  1. Hi as is common with Vags the drivers door mechanism had become temperamental, I’ve bought the replacement from Skoda and set about removing the door card etc but can’t figure out how to undo the cable from the outside handle that goes to the mech??? any ideas peeps? Do I need to remove the door handle ? On the older Octavia’s you could remove the outside door panel cheers
  2. You star, I couldn’t find anything I’ll keep this pinned in case I ever do need replacements
  3. Bonjour My 2017 245 octavia has DCC as a factory option, the kit is really good and would I have it again? definatly My question is even though its working fine now, at some point it will need replacing (cars only on 53k so should be good for a while) . I was ordering a new door locking mech from Skoda and while I had them on the phone, I asked how much it would be to replace knowing that it wouldn't be cheap but was not expecting £300 PER damper!!!!! with new springs at £120 each the total cost for just the parts is £1700 with fitting on top 😭 Has anyone been through this or tried an aftermarket direct replacement? monroe look like they do a adaptive damper after a quick look around but I can't find any info on any of the forums VW/Seat Audi etc where it has acutaully been done?
  4. I've a 2018 245 and had mine also changed, it's definitely a separate oil to the clutch etc and expensive at £50 for 1/2 litre. At 42k and three years old my filter and oil were clear and good but I would definitely get it done. FYI my garage hadn't heard or seen this sort of locking diff but soon figured it out after a bit of research, plus the 500ml bottle will give you two changes and if you do it yourself, be carful of the wiring as its a tight fit.
  5. I'm pretty sure in my vrs, that if you lift the back part of the horizontal bar for height adjustment on the sear, that it just raises the back of the base and not the front, changing the tilt/ dip position. It has three different adjustments for just the height. Hope that helps
  6. The owl noise is driving me mad, the car is driving fine and no codes but everytime I let off the revs to change gear etc around 2500-3k I get the owl calling under the bonnet! it sounds like I've gone back 15 years and have a huge blowoff valve. Never does it when I'm pootling around, which is 85% of my driving, I might just be hinding the sound when I push it hard but it doesn't seem as loud?? Pretty sure its turbo related but the car seems happy Please help
  7. Cross fingers, its kind of taken the excitement away. I've had 5 other vrs's mapped and never any problems
  8. Hi I had my car stage 1 remapped on Friday at Big fish tuning and ever since then the car now has an audible whoosh noise which sounds like a turbo waste gate ? is this normal? My car is a 2018 octavia vrs 245 tsi. The noise happens usually in gears 1-3 and only at low revs when changing gear, roughly 2.5-3k but never when your pushing it The car made good gains but John who owns the place and does the maps live on rollers, did have a problem with a dip in the power curve? to his due he spent 3.5 hours on it and said I could bring it back when it warmed up outside (it was -4 when I had it done) as he thought the tyres where not warming up enough. Any ideas on this one peeps? as I didn't think these cars had a recirculating valve which it sounds like, I'm a little worried too much boost has now been added Thanks
  9. Yes please, isn't the one for the diesel slightly different? I'll pm you Cheers

  12. Bonjour Can I ask where people got their Rieger diffuser from for a 2018 Octavia VRS? I've had a good look on ebay etc but there only seems to be ones from Germany available Thanks
  13. 3 previous owners and the service cost all depends on where you take it and which service. Hope that helps? If not please message me. Chris
  14. Thank you, I agree its aged well and defiantly get attention with the lovely V6 rumble. Now updated with a few more pics and info. Thanks for looking
  15. Hi Time has come to sell my weekend car. Its a 2008 Mercedes CLK 280 sport AMG so the top spec and fully loaded, its a 3.0 ltr V6 petrol with 230 bhp, which averages 26-27mpg's around town and 34 on motorways. The car is in automatic with paddle Shift gear change, which works really well. Brief history- My next door neighbour had the car for 3.5 years and its main use was to take him down to one of the London airports (I live in York) on a Sunday and there it would sit until Friday ( he's a contractor abroad) he decided to finally change cars and I'd always had a soft spot for it, so I asked for first dibs and ended up getting it. Everything works on the car apart from the catch on the glove-box ( have a quick search its very common) also the alloys could do with a refurb, there is a very light scrap on the front offside bumper but apart from that its in top shape. Serviced only 2k miles ago. Here's a quick run down of the spec MILEAGE -106K FULL SERVICE HISTORY 18" AMG SPORT ALLOYS FULL LEATHER ELECTRIC SEATS COMMAND APS WITH SAT NAV CRUISE CONTROL AMG STEERING WHEEL AMG BODY STYLING MULTI FUNCTION STEERING WHEEL 6 DISC CD CHANGER REAR SPOILER FRONT AND REAR PARKING SENSORS AIR CON HEATED SEATS AUTO HEADLIGHTS/ WIPERS POWER FOLDING MIRRORS Mot 28th of May 2019 I will update this ad at the weekend with full pics and anything that I have forgotten I'm looking for £3700ono £3500ono Please do a quick search for me in the selling section and see that I've always had please and happy buyers. (sold my last three cars on here and bought two) Thanks Chris.
  16. Still sat in my garage, must get round to shifting this on.
  17. Offers before this goes on ebay are welcome
  18. DTUK tuning box bought from my 2009 cr vrs Octavia but never got round to fitting it. It's the older type with the pins you move to change between the different maps and it's the performance box. These have been around a while with good reviews. One of the cables had a little wear on it so I wrapped it in some armored cable protector. The box works as it should. Looking for £120 posted (uk only please)
  19. I'll step in and help just once with this. Q1=Its had all the major things changed that wear-out on a car with this mileage, there is only the turbo but just check it for play! It did burn a very small amount of oil but all the TFSI's do, it never caused me any issues in 4.5 years of ownership. Q2=this is only on a stage 1 so very drivable and if you do find it hops, fit a anti lift kit for £150 but I always found it fine. Insurance will go up a bit and but again its only a stage one so loads of places will insure it. Q3= This is a bit of an odd one as all three cars are completely different! subaru is a beast and a good car but the oldest of the lot and big big bills when it goes wrong! Audi is a nice car but you said it will cost double and also higher repair bills and then the skoda, a good car with high miles but fun to drive, reliable and cheap to buy, it's all personal preferance. Q4= The car already has a newer spec cambus gateway so no battery drain and just a simple plug and play with the columbus, it will also show on the dash as it has a maxidot. Q5= only Jake can answer that.
  20. My old car! I had this for 4.5 years and can say "what a good car" it was an ex demo hence being very highly spec'd for one of the first mk2's, maxi dot and factory xenon's. I'm glad this is still going and hope the new owner treats it with the respect it deserves, what a car. (Shark used to use its rolling road read out/ curve in their advertising)
  21. As many have, I've dealt with Mike on a few occasions and he's always been a top lad, shame this has happened and hope he does come back but if not, totally understandable. Good luck Mike.
  22. My bottom lip is still out from having to sell it but...... i know its gone to a good home It was nice to meet you Simon and a pleasure doing business.
