did you rotate over the course of 40,000 km ? i've been told that Contis were designed for smooth autobahns, and thus get shredded by Nz's coarse chip
-
i had Pirelli Cinturatos before, PS 4 were an instant NVR upgrade. plus, reviews aren't stellar - https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Pirelli/Scorpion-Verde.htm . i don't mind hearing your comparison, though. current choice boils down to $1700 Pirellis or $2400 PS 4
-
3 for 1 unlikely at present, as Michelin are having supply issues for that size. originals are Contis done 30,000 km
-
thanks for the input, all. guess i'll have to bite the NZD 2400 bullet with PS 4. much better tyre selection for 19' Vegas in NZ, @ZacDaMan72 ?
-
my apologies, i’ll improve my manners @silver1011

have found the tyre options for my 20 inch Extreme alloys so limited and over-priced (here in NZ) - i'm thinking of getting higher profile tyres to broaden my selection. what downsides are there ? not bothered about speedo accuracy, as i'll drive to compensate. am quite happy to sacrifice some handling for improved ride too

anyone have a discount coupon they'd be willing to share, please ?

two of my tyres have approx 3 months of life left, the other two have approx 8 months. which should I do ? 1) rotate to even out the wear and replace all 4 at once, further down the line 2) leave alone, and replace the worst 2, soon Kodiaq RS, done 30,000 km, rotated twice since new

replacement engines for defunct variants
chrisluciofg posted a topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
when the biturbo engine in my Kodiaq RS ****s itself (a near inevitability, as i intend to keep it for as long as possible), and a repair proves uneconomical, will it be possible to find a new replacement engine, bearing in mind the 176 TDI will no longer be an option for new cars ? -
was hoping to buy Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tyres, but only the standard non-SUV variety is in stock. how do they differ ?
-
Kodiaq RS with 'Sport' selected for drive mode, does that shift more torque to the rear ? as that's my permanent default, i wonder if it's detrimental to Haldex longevity
-
wanting opinions from those who've driven with and without mudguards - how effective are they in keeping the door panels free from rainy day grime ? any downsides ? additionally, how compatible are they with Kodiaq RS bodywork ? not keen on rattles

extinction of performance diesels

i very much doubt the impending demise of Jurassic juice, as the petrochemical byproducts of fuel refinement are requirements in every aspect of modern life. an abbreviated list: "plastics, soaps and detergents, solvents, drugs, fertilizers, pesticides, explosives, synthetic fibres and rubbers, paints, epoxy resins, and flooring and insulating materials" -

extinction of performance diesels
chrisluciofg replied to chrisluciofg's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
the EA 888 being one of the greatest mainstream engines of all time, petrol is a no-brainer for the UK. will GPFs need as much babysitting as DPFs ? in NZ, diesel is the winner for lead-footed drivers lugging loads (tax is based on travel distance, not consumption). the appeal of the RS extends beyond the engine - pornographic seats and wheels and rear-end warble seal the deal. that said, i wouldn't mind an x-drive 330 D wagon in one of BMW's amazing range of blues -

in NZ there's a fervent minority like you and I who say "it'll be my last Skoda if i can't get it in diesel", esp with the Hyundai Pallisade soon to launch -

2020 DSG L & K 190PS Drive Mode Default
chrisluciofg replied to andmag's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
anyone know how to convert an unused drive mode (Sport mode in my case), to be a second (RS 2) individual mode ? -

diesel engines soon to permanently disappear in the Kodiaq RS, SQ 7 and SQ 8. will this be a plus for residuals on current diesels ?
