  1. Of course.if periodically removed they might not seize, BUT go a few months in winter with salt laden roads and they will corrode on ,happened to me when I was commuting yr round by motorcycle, heck of a job to get them off ,easily fixed if some acf 50 or copper grease is used when putting caps on ,personally I see zero point in not sticking with the plastic caps provided 😏
  2. They WILL corrode badly ,its called galvanic corrosion of dissimilar metals ,well known in engineering ,many motorcyclist used to use the metal caps resulting in corrosion so severe the valve is ripped out trying to remove cap 🤔🤔
  3. Interesting 'ref EBC, used for yrs on cars and bikes with zero quality issues 🤔
  4. I've used EBC before ,not checked your size but British made and top quality at reasonable prices .
  5. Blimey !! Glad we live in quiet cul-de-sac ,will compound keep battery charged etc ?
  6. Put battery on trickle charge as warning came up after a week without regular commute.
  7. Never had issue with ACC in 28k miles ,wouldn't buy a car with out it now ,our 2018 version only really for M way use or stop start traffic. Never had the take a break alert in 2 yrs .
  8. Our 2018 2.0TDI estate long term avg 48mpg with Mrs commute of B roads and MK roundabouts. Down to Cornwall absolutely loaded to the roof 57mpg.looked into plug in when we change next year but boot too small now and lease prices WAY too high .poss going rav 4 hybrid as we test drive at the weekend and Mrs loved it.
  9. Dealers talking bull !!! Just after more money, all 10 L bottles I've purchased came with a tube ,don't fall for dealer nonsense 👍
  10. Yes ,have you not checked it before now?did you check after delivery? Don't trust dealers PDI.
  11. MOST people will already know this but it only takes 300mm or 1 ft of flowing water ie crossing a ford etc to wash your car down stream ,people have died ignoring this .Just saying .
  12. DON'T attempt to turn engine over till 100% certain no water ingested!! You'll wreck the engine !!
  13. As above i use the supplied hose with the bottle ,fills in less than a minute, I would junk the hose ,sounds like an airlock if no breather in bottle or hose .
  14. If you could hang out till may ,new Octavia looks really good ,bigger as well ,estate has a boot only 20 litres smaller than the superb. We will be in the same position this time next year .
  15. Shame , dsg takes car to stand still in traffic then moves off when car in front moves ,Mrs wouldn't have a manual now ,so much easier 😁
  16. Great write up ,defo get ACC with DSG ,Mrs finds its great in stop start traffic, much less tiring on a long run .
  17. We were suprised when we tested a kodiak with the 1.5 petrol, avg mpg on the test route dealer always used was 25mpg !! We went for 2.0Tdi Superb sel exec estate 7 Dsg, never below 45mpg and 57 on 300mile run to Cornwall loaded to the roof .
  18. Interesting to get definitive answer as our 2018 7 speed Dsg sel exec will reach 40k before we replace it .From this forum I always thought it would need oil change at 40k .out a was delivered 03/18 and manufactured 01/18.
  19. Apparently the new model Octavia has those headrests.
  20. Thanks ,glad they've moved on since my old man's triumph 2500 3 speed with O Drive !to be fair our 7 speed Dsg changes are un noticeable as well ,just the initial pull away that's not perfect ,would never go back to manual now especially with ACC so useful in traffic .
  21. Sounds good ,how does the slush box compare to DDG? are changes slower ?i would expect no jerk on pulling away like DSG. Poss looking at V90 estate when lease expires, we have 2.0 TDI sel exec at the moment and space will be hard to beat .some very good lease prices on V90 at the moment ,similar to superb but a near 40k car .
  22. Files look same as when I did it ,I used usb stick ,are u using memory card in adaptor? in nearly did that but went with usb stick in the end .
  23. I would imagine it'll be fine ,updated mine via usb stick and carried on with update while ignition was off 👍
