Thank you for the reply. I went back to what I now. I’ve got a 2017 CRV diesel. It doesn’t have all the gadgets my Karoq had but it pulls away smoothly every time.

I started this thread 3 years ago after delivery of my Karoq. Next week I say goodbye to it as my PCH has come to an end. I'm really sad that I had the issues I did, as there is so much to like about the car. Will I miss the car? No! Maybe my experience would have been more positive if I had had a car with a diesel engine or a later 1.5 model. The engine had it's software update but although it helped, it didn't completely sort the car. My next car is not a Skoda.Thank you to all of you for commenting on this thread over the last 3 years.

I wondered if other owners of 1.5 manual Karoq owners were having issues when pulling away on first gear. I just can't do it smoothly. I've tried low revs, high revs and just using the torque of the engine but to no avail. It's hard to explain what happens but I will try. I get the clutch bite point and go to increase the revs as I slowly lift the clutch further but the revs either jump up or bottom out and I "kangaroo" as if I'm a learner driver all other again. I have no issues in other gears as I change into them. Is it because the car is so new? It does get better when the car is warm but doesn't fully go away. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
