  1. Thank you for the reply. I went back to what I now. I’ve got a 2017 CRV diesel. It doesn’t have all the gadgets my Karoq had but it pulls away smoothly every time.
  2. I started this thread 3 years ago after delivery of my Karoq. Next week I say goodbye to it as my PCH has come to an end. I'm really sad that I had the issues I did, as there is so much to like about the car. Will I miss the car? No! Maybe my experience would have been more positive if I had had a car with a diesel engine or a later 1.5 model. The engine had it's software update but although it helped, it didn't completely sort the car. My next car is not a Skoda.Thank you to all of you for commenting on this thread over the last 3 years.
  3. Just had a call from Skoda UK saying that an ECU update is available for my week 4 build 1.5 SEL. Finally. Just got to book it in now.
  4. My car is a week 4 build but I've not heard from Skoda UK yet so I'm guessing the latest update isn't for my 1.5 engine. I considered rejecting mine but I'm in the same position as @kerbero5 as I have a car with options that I chose and I wouldn't get those again unless I could get a brand new car.
  5. Thank you @rayx. It is for a Karoq. That is great news. I'll phone my dealership today.
  6. Mine was a build week 4 (Jan 2018). Is the update ready for that engine ECU?
  7. When I spoke to Skoda UK recently they said that they were finding it hard to find a solution as the issue doesn't affect all the 1.5 engines even if they were build around the same time.
  8. I do you use this feature but what I'm trying to stop is when you've had the engine running, you switch off, get out of the car and it goes off. If I've just popped back into the house I have to restart it all again.
  9. Does anyone know how to stop the infortainment screen automatically turning off when you get out of the car with the ignition off?
  10. I spoke to Paul at Skoda UK today. They were really helpful. They told me that the kangerooing and lack of power in 2nd is a known issue and Skoda are working on a fix for all versions. I mentioned that I was waiting for the update (week 4 build) and he said that an update was coming. He did say that it was a strange issue as it doesn't affect all the 1.5 engines and they're trying to pinpoint which ones. Paul did say he would phone me with an update every 3 weeks.
  11. Mine does the same. I only have 1 USB socket as well.
  12. I only became aware that the update was only available for MY2019 cars after the service but I did ask them to let me know if and when an update for MY2018 cars does become available. My frustration was with the fact they denied any knowledge of the problem and an update for any models. I've started with a text but have asked for an emailed response. If I don't hear anything back then I'll email them and copy in Skoda UK.
  13. I had a courtesy text from my dealership asking about my experience of having my car serviced with them. I replied with my frustration about how they denied all knowledge of any fault or update. I shall await their reply.
  14. The karoq had its 1st service today. Surprise surprise, they couldn't find any issues pulling away and had no knowledge of any updates for any Skoda vehicle.
  15. Really? Has anyone else found this? How does it affect the pulling away? I notice the kangerooing is less with the air-con switched off but I know why that is. I'll give it a try though. 1st service tomorrow but it doesn't look like a fix is available for my karoq as its before the dpf filter was installed.
  16. What problem does turning off the 'front assist' solve? Have I missed something?
  17. Mine was manufactured in January 2018. Is the update not available for cars built that early?
  18. I started this thread just over a year ago and finally it looks like a software update is starting to be installed and having a positive effect. My car is in for its 1st service on Friday (12th April) so hopefully the update will be installed. I'll update the thread when it's done. Has anyone else had the update? Has it worked? I saw another thread where it looks like it has.
  19. My karoq 1.5 manual is going in for its 1st service on Friday and I've asked them to do the update. Hopefully it will get done. I'm glad it seems to be working for you.
  20. I've tried my VIN on the skoda recall page but it says that there is no recall for my car although it is affected by the problem. Also, how do I find out which ECU I have?
  21. Not sure if this is an indication of a fix on the way but I watched a review of the new VW T-cross and the reviewer said that at launch it will have the 1.0L engine and a diesel. The 1.5L engine will be available later in the year. Does this suggest that they are waiting to fix the fault before the offer the car with the engine? I can't see why they wouldn't put it in the car from launch when the engine is already available in other cars. Thoughts?
  22. No. I messaged them too but through the website.
