  1. Hi again, please find a photo of the fuel filler flap
  2. Hi again, no, there are not any 'Eco' pressures as per older mk3's etc, I presume that Economy and Emissions being so relevant, Skoda presumes that everyone wants to drive as economically as possible! (I think that 2.5 Bar seems to appear on older models as an Eco option?) I have only just taken possession of this car and cannot yet comment on tyre wear patterns, only on the harsh 'bumpy' ride, definitely not as compliant as my old Mk3 Octy. I wonder if the fuel flap information does not apply to this vehicle? It already suffers from not being homologated to tow (0 GTW) - Apparently this could be a mistake made during production according to Skoda UK, whom I am in negotiation with, having bought this car to tow my caravan!
  3. Hi Ken, my thoughts exactly! I am considering running on 2.2 Bar all round when lightly loaded as an experiment.
  4. Hi again, What tyre pressures do you run your Mk4 Octavias at please? My tyres are 205/60R16 92V and the recommended tyre pressures (On the fuel filler flap) are 2.5 and 2.6 Bar for two passengers, lightly loaded. This seems to result in a harsh ride over our North Wales pothole-ridden roads! My Mk3 Octavia, with 205/55R16/91V tyres ran at a more civilised 2.2 Bar. I have searched on a few tyre fitting websites and a lot of these still quote 2.2 bar for my car, not the figure on the filler flap! As has been pointed out in previous posts, there is not a great difference between these two tyres and the car, if anything, should be lighter, why the recommended higher pressures and could I (Legally) run at, say, 2.3 and 2.4 Bar for a more comfortable ride? Cheers, Alan
  5. Thanks everyone for your advice, I have decided to sell my Conti Winter Wheels and put the money towards a set of Cross Climate or similar tyres! BTW, can anyone confirm the front and rear tyre pressures for the 1.5 TSI 150 Mk4 please? The petrol flap tells me 2.5 and 2.6 Bar respectively - This seems high for a lightly loaded vehicle? Or is this to improve stability and economy? Thanks in anticipation, Alan
  6. Thank you for the information, I think that I will have to sell these wheels and order some new ones! Anyone want a set of four steel wheels fitted with Continental winter tyres to fit a Mk2 or Mk 3 Octavia? kind regards Alan
  7. Hi, I have a set of steel winter wheels from my 'old' mk3 Octavia, with 205 55 R16 tyres on 6Jx16 ET48 rims, can I install them on my Mk4 Octavia, which comes with 205 60 R16 tyres on 6.5Jx16 ET46 rims as standard? As far as I know, the centre bore, offset, pcd and lug dimensions are the same. Would I be right in thinking that despite the rim and tyre differences, both cars wheels have the same overall rolling diameter? Assuming that the mk4 has Direct TPMS, I would have to replace the standard steel rim wheel valves with 'intelligent' ones? Do these then need coding to the car? Who could undertake this, the Dealer or Tyre Fitter? I apologise for all these questions, but it would be a shame to 'lose' the winter wheels! Yours confused Alan
  8. Hi, I am just about to take delivery of a 70 plate Octavia mk4 1.5 TSI - My question is can I power and run a dash cam from the USB port in the rear view mirror please? According to the specs. this is a USB C charging point. If this is possible it would save the cost of a hard-wire installation! Thanks, Alan
  9. Hi, yes sorry, thinking that I was posting in the Kenwood Sat Nav Owners section!
  10. Hi, I had my local Skoda Dealership install the above (GVN60) sat-nav system in my early (MIB1) Octavia Mk3 in 2019. After months of problems (Loose cables, blank screens etc.) the unit was replaced under warranty last year. It has worked well since then (Following a software update by the Dealer) until now that is! I hope that Garmin/ Kenwood give a 2 year warranty on this unit because it has just failed in what appears to be the same manner as it's predecessor. I can hear the relay operating when I press and hold the 'Media' button on the Bolero console but the display remains blank. This causes a problem with the CAN bus which tells me 'Quiescent Current too high' probably meaning that the Sat Nav system is continually drawing power even when 'Off'. Apologies for a somewhat rambling post, but has anyone got any ideas please? The car is booked in to Mitchells of Chester this Wednesday (8th Sept) for an investigation, but I was wondering if this was a common issue or am I just 'Lucky'? Cheers, Alan

  12. Hi, I have just purchased a VW Data Plug, installed Connect Lite on my Android Phone and all appears fine. My question is can I disable/ remove/ hide the 'My Challenges' tile please? I find it quite annoying! I have turned off the GPS for this 'Feature' but can find no way of hiding it. Also, the battery voltage is not being displayed, it remains greyed out. thanks in anticipation Alan
  13. Hi IntercityUK, Thanks for the reply. I have finally managed to make it work by blasting the washer jet with a hosepipe! Fingers crossed that it doesn't block again. I know that the washer bottle filler has a filter of sorts, but perhaps this lets crap in to the washer jet line over a period of time?
  14. Hi, I have a 2015 2.0 TDI Octavia MkIII . The rhs windscreen washer jet has just started to only 'fire' from the left - as if the right side of the 'V' spray pattern has become blocked? Is this easy to resolve please? Thanks and kind regards Alan
