Hi all, I'm going to change my engine coolant in the next couple or weeks. Is there anything to look out for that would seem out of the ordinary for a coolant change? Also is there actually a mechanical Thermostat like in most older cars? I've seen many coolant change videos on the 1.2 TSI engine and none mention the Thermostat. So i've done some digging, but couldn't find anything on the Thermostat. The only thing I did find was about the coolant regulator. I've attached some pictures from the workshop manual website. Is this a fancy Thermostat that doesn't need touching in a coolant change? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers 🍻

Fitted a new set of Team Heko wind deflectors today, rears fix perfectly. The fronts on the other hand 🙄 the front of the deflector fits good but the rear of the fronts are a pain in the arse. In the end I had to trim some of the deflectors off so the window would actually close as it kept triggering the safety mechanism and sent the window down again. After some minor fettling and heat bending I was able to get the window to clear the deflectors. It's as if someone at Heko couldn't read a ruler. If the fronts were 3-4mm shorter they would fit like a glove. I've seen others have problems and others don't so I guess it's whoever is on the moulding machine at the manufacturing plant as to get this inconsistentcy with fitment.

I've not checked with main dealer, I'd guess it'll be around £20 ish. It cost me £50 for genuine center caps for my wheels. Here is the left hand blanker from the same breaker on ebay. Thay has a vrs badge with the aluminium strip

Thanks for getting back, I found one on ebay eventually. It was from a vrs so has the aluminium strip on one side. So I'll probably end up taking that off

@Murdockman see the pictures I've attached. They only seem to sell blankers not ones with holes in. Price is only €11 aswell

Ummm I think £91 plus delivery is extremely over priced for a simple piece of plastic 1" x 3". I'll give that a miss I think. Are you taking about the same panel I've circled in the picture?
-
Hi all, I've looked everywhere online, I'm trying to find a specific dash panel as I need a new one. The panel I need is the rear demister panel with 2 cutouts. I've looked on ebay but no luck. If someone knows the part number maybe that would locate one for sale on ebay. Trying to avoid main dealer prices Cheers See pic to info.

Volts look extremely low on both sensors and ohms should be around 7.0?

Hi, Thanks for your responses. I've cleared the codes for now but out of interest take a look at the live data I'm getting on the O2 sensors in the videos I took. Thanks 20230219_091233 (1).mp4

Hi all, I've seen so many forum posts about this issue but every one gives a different answer. The car involved isn't a VAG group car but the issue seems to occur in vag cars too. The issue is this, one day I was driving my partners C1 and all of a sudden the tyre pressure warning light, the esc light and engine management light all come on at the same time for no apparent reason. Scanned the ecu on my generic scanner and it showed a P0137 and P0139 codes. Both codes are oxygen sensor based codes. Bank 1 sensor 1 gives slow response. First thing I did was put a rear oxygen sensor on and reset the light. About 30 mins into driving all 3 lights come on again. Lots of other forums suggest it's a wheel sensor or a dodgy wheel bearing. But I'm not convinced. I will test the sensor tomorrow once I have the car warmed up just to eliminate it. Tyre pressures are all fine. Any suggestions as to what else to look out for? Thanks

Seems to be a lot of clunk coming from where the driveshaft goes into the diff. Is this play normal? Driveshafts are new on both sides. FYI it did it before the driveshafts were changed. 20220807_133255 (1) (1).mp4

Yes, this is what mine is currently. I was under the assumption that I was going to need a different airbag anyway, just needed confirmation. The face-lift model from 2013 onwards has a far better looking wheel. I needed some info on wether the air bags are coded to each car or if I could just plug and play.

As I said in my original post, I want to have a cleaner steering wheel. The 2012 monte carlo has a half leather steering wheel, the bottom half where my legs rub the wheel every time I get in and out has worn quite badly and looks tatty. The 2013 onwards fabia had a full leather wheel so is much harder wearing. Plus it looks a better wheel overall. I just wanted to know if the airbag is compatible with the wheel or would I need a new one that is for the new steering wheel.
