  1. Yes, under acceleration, as soon as you stick the clutch in, the vibration stops. The tyres are Falken all weather compound and we had new ones fitted to the front of the car, the problem was happening before the tyres were fitted. Thanks for replying and the knowledge about the dual mass. I'm beginning to wonder if the clutch has an issue though.
  2. Hello all, thanks for any advice given. We've owned this Fabia from new, it only has 34k miles on the clock and has been regularly dealer serviced. At around 35 mph the front of the vehicle starts to vibrate, as you push on up to 60 ish the vibration becomes worse, stick the clutch in and it stops. This started happening a few weeks ago and we thought it was one of the OEM Tyres as it had started to split and go out of shape, new tyres later and still the same problem. I'm unsure if the car is on a dual mass flywheel, would any of the knowledgeable folks in here think it could be? Apparently they make the engine vibrate even at idle, it isn't doing that. Could it possibly be a driveshaft issue? Again, thanks for any input, it's a puzzling one!
  3. Made my day Lee! Any more closet Tanki Pals?
  4. Unreal matey!
  5. Cheers @OccyVRS I'd rather be pre-emptive and change the oil in both - top tips.
  6. Been a serial lurker of the forum for quite a while. I've been around Skoda for too long, since 1976 when my Grandma had an Estelle I bought my own first Skoda Fabia Combi in 2019 after we bought the wife's 2018 Fabia. The Fabia Combi was written off in 2019 sadly after a road rage incident and was replaced by a Golf Variant. My facelift Octavia Combi is my pride and joy and I love driving it. Do I map it or do I keep it standard? lots of questions to be asked. Best to all.
  7. Thanks - what is the MCU? New to modern terms - apologies. It may well be worth an oil change. It's got 78K Miles on it, call me paranoid...
  8. Cheers - I'm one for having things serviced and looked after. I've a good local mechanic that doesn't take the mickey and he thought it was a sealed unit. I wanted to ask the members here their thoughts as I know this is the place to get advice.
  9. Loving my Octy Combi 1.5TSI. Thinking forward, I'd like to get the DSG gearbox serviced and wonder if the members of the forum could give some pointers, please. How do I find which gearbox is fitted to the car? Is it oil only or oil and filter? What service interval to have the DSG 'box serviced? Thanks for any help.
  10. Apologies if not allowed. Could I ask the knowledgeable folks of this forum - is this a Mk 3 Facelift? I pick it up on Wednesday and am a bit confused as it is right on the changeover year - I think! 2020 Octavia Estate. It's an SE L model, would it be fitted with LED headlights? I didn't check at test drive. Thanks for any advice offered.
