  1. Just had my windscreen replaced after developing a massive crack.

There's two bits that I'm not sure about and hoped someone could compare against their vehicle.

    a) is the black outside trim on the A pillar the same as the attached photo. Mine both have a channel now on the outside that looks suspiciously like it should have the outside edge of the window sitting in them.

    b) is the ceiling liner loose. Mine has a sort of frayed edge by the dashcam and can be moved in and out quite a bit.

    Much appreciated.

Yes, as long as the rolling radius of the wheel and tyre combination remains roughly the same.

Usually smaller wheels are compensated with higher profile tyres.

What's the aim here, are you looking for something smaller for improved comfort / pothole resistance, winter wheels, or just a different style of alloy for cosmetic reasons?

Spare set for winter tyres is the objective and I'd like them to not look too far from stock (or at least not like I'm attempting to be a boy racer in my Karoq...) - so alloys.

If you want Winter wheel without Chains then all are ok but tyre availability  is limited and cost is higher or 18 and 19

    i went with 17”

as as has been said the accessory brochure or the Skoda doe pal or many other websites give info

most of the Karoo sizes are ET45

    5 x 112 fixing

    57.1 bore

7 inch on 17” up to 215/225 wide tyres

Can I go for a smaller size without screwing up the speedo?

    been there many times.

On the inside surface of your wheel you will find stamped numbers showing the Width e.g. 7” and the Offset e.g. ET45 (mm)

A good guide is to look at what other wheel / tyre combinations are used on other models in the VAG family.

Most of the 5 hole 112 PCD wheels will fit the hub, but the important Overall tyre diameter and the wheel offset are key bits of information so that (a) your speedo reads pretty much the same as original and (b) the wheel or tyre do not touch anything.

Thank you so much for your answer.

  5. Looking for a bit of advice - I've never purchased wheels before.

    I have a 1.5 Edition with the 19" wheels. Tyres are 235/40 R19 96W

How do I work out which alloys are suitable for my vehicle?

Websites appear to ask for the below info:

    Diameter: 19"

    Width: ??

    PCD: ??

    Offset: ??

    Central bore: ??

I used to think that I was quite intelligent until attempting to buy these wheels.

    Thanks in advance.

You need to get a pair of flat shoes for driving and take your high heels off :D

I specifically chose the karoq as the driving position allowed for my stilletos.

I mean I'd understand if I was wearing heels but I am in oxfords 5 days a week and trainers for the other 2.

  7. Bit disappointed in my floor mats in my Karoq Edition.

    They're the standard non-rubber ones.

I've completely worn through the mat where my heel rests between the accelerator and brake. As a result, I've also started to wear through the plastic under the mat in this area.

I've done 20k miles and the car is 13 months old.

Does anyone else think that this is far too early?

I replaced the ones in my previous vehicle after 80k miles.

Is there any way to purchase just the driver side mat?

How did they ever manage to pass their test if they can't park without electronic aids?

Why does wanting to have an easy method of parking mean that they can't park?

I'm perfectly capable of driving within a lane, but lane assist is nice to have.

I'm capable of reversing a vehicle but a camera is nice to have and makes it easy.

Trying to feel superior than other people because their car has these features is lame.

  9. Pa_ko, I don't understand how after all the effort you've put into this, you won't just disable KESSY by touching the door handle. It completely removes the risk that you're so preoccupied with.

Putting the key in a pouch, tin, wrapping it in foil or manufacturing a motion sensor of your own design is surely more of an inconvenience?!

  10. How hard is it to just disable KESSY?

Lock the car with the key, and within 5 seconds touch the driver or front passenger door handle. The red light will flash to confirm that KESSY is disabled.

I have always used the VAG windscreen juice, its expensive but it works when you need it.

My home is about 7 miles from the coldest place in the UK  last night at -13deg C. Today no problems with washers including a 60 mph wind chill factor added in !

Where do you buy it from?

It's only the nozzle that's 'heated' not the reservoir or the pipes...…...a bit useless really.....I think you are supposed to have screen wash suitably diluted to prevent freezing and the heated nozzle just stops the bit subjected to the exterior icy blast from freezing.

I'd double check your Prestone dilution.

    It's premixed!

  13. Dipped to -5°C this morning. Couldn't get any screenwash to spray for the duration of a 1 hour drive. I'm sure that my Edition had heated washers.

Any idea how to identify if they're working?

I have Prestone screenwash in which in theory is down to -10°C.

  14. My Karoq has been making a comparatively loud squeak when driving.

Sounds like from the front wheels.

Can only hear it when under 30mph - although may just not be able to hear due to wind noise when faster.

Not related to engine revs and doesn't go away when braking. Happens when straight or turning.

Seems to happen more after 15 mins of driving or so.

    10,000 miles.

Any ideas? I've booked it in for Wednesday.
