Airbag light on after resistor change
BradfordFab replied to BradfordFab's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Bit of an update..connecting the battery whilst the air bag is disconnected is a no no and this confused the ECU ...I needed the car for work with the resistor on order.I fitted the new resistor then the airbag reconnected everything to find the air bag lit on the dash...I took my car to my local garage they cleared the fault code and its been fine ever since. Cheers for a the comments i learnt a lesson with this and learning is what its all about cheers -
Airbag light on after resistor change
BradfordFab replied to BradfordFab's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Wino thankyou for that ...im beginning to think the same...There are some USB Dongles on Ebay which will allow me to access the ECU with VCDS software loaded on my laptop....Do you have any experience of these...Cheers -
Hi there...After following the guides on here changing my faulty heater resistor (burnt out) i now have an airbag orange error illuminated on the console. I did have to remove the passenger airbag in order to get to the resistor and i took all the precautions to do this...Its now back together and i have checked its all as was but i now have the error. My question is does the ECU store the fault code and not re set itself after the airbag was re-fit and battery connected or is there a simple answer ? Hope someone can help Thanks

Do i need a radio code ?
BradfordFab replied to BradfordFab's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Thankyou everyone ...followed your instructions got the old resistor out to find it had all cracked and broken down...I think the cause of these is cabin filter neglect...mine was heavily blocked and it looks like the resistor requires air flow to keep it cool...No flow means overheating and failure...well thats my opinion ha ha Ordered another should be here Tuesday...will keep you all posted. -
Hi there, i need to disconnect my battery/airbag to change the heater control resistor but i dont have a code for my radio...im getting conflicting info as to wether i need one or not ? My car is a fabia mk2 1.2tdi thanks

What coolant Fabia 1.2TD Greenline
BradfordFab replied to BradfordFab's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Thanks guys i didn't get an owners manual with the car so thats very useful ....Yes it seems the liquid amount is just over 6l so with a 50/50 mix 3 liters of Antifreeze should be fine....Just need to know which type now....Is it worth buying it from a Skoda dealership ? -
Hi there what type of coolant do i need form my recently acquired Fabia 1.2 TDi and how much do i ned for a full flush....any preference to brands ? Thankyou

m8t Thankyou for the reply.....i guess i should have done my research before i bought the car as i only do short 10 minute journeys through the week to work...I do use the car at weekends for Motorway journeys at least a couple of times a month and this was the reason i went for an economical engine ...... Are well i thing the challenge for me is to try and work out ways of looking after the emission control devices on the car..... Never had a diesel before so its a learning curve for me. Fine on the oil changes i do and have always maintained my cars to high standards and thats the plan with this one. Cheers for now

Hi everyone this is my first post....I have just purchased a 44000 mile Fabia Estate 2012 with a 1.2tdi Greenline 75bhp engine. As well as any tips you guys can give me about maintaining the car (all suggestion's welcome) i would like to know when the DPF starts to regenerate I.E speed, RPM and engine temperature. Thanks in advance for any replies Paul
