  1. its a lease i think the se technology perhaps but interesting thanks the 35 looks cheap now and should be a recommendation based on this !! -- thanks for the info
  2. how odd I got my 2022 Superb in May with just two fobs - My 2019 and 2021 Octavias again two keys (fobs)
  3. Every new car for some years has been two keys -- leastways to me anyhow
  4. 313.00 new key (apparently mostly to laser cut the key inside) 69.00 to reprogramme the fob !
  5. On Tuesday I lost my key in a local shopping centre car park. It is a lease and so for security I had to get the spare key reprogrammed as I do not know who now has the first key. The reprogramming seems to have kicked in some sort of security issue. I Can now only start the car by holding it right against the START button and it has to be pretty precise at that -- the car otherwise unlocks fine with the key. The garage say it is a security thing when you reprogramme just one key -- they are saying (and I do not know if they were certain) when the new key arrives they will programme the two keys together and the issue should be solved. Anyone had similar experience with a Skoda key problem ? (the costs are 313 for the key and 69 to reprogramme so expensive)
  6. Unfortunately seem to have lost my car fob in local shopping centre - after hunting around and checking various lost properties I had to concede I was going to have to buy a replacement for my 2022 Skoda Superb. Well I had heard someone talk about a lost fob costing 300 and when I checked with the dealer it was 314 BUT you then pay 69 to have it programmed. I am also worried as it has not been handed it I will pay another 69 to have the spare one reprogrammed so that the old one is redundant. Takes at least 3/4 weeks to get one from Czech apparently (most of the cost it appears is laser cutting the actual key that hides inside the fob) So everyone please take firm grip on your keys !!
  7. Managed to do the factory reset when LOADING PROFILE didn't come on - took ages but hopefully solved it until it is collected at least
  8. My Octavia IV has been doing this almost since I had it a year ago. I am getting rid of it on monday (lease) and this morning it started playing up with all sorts of gash messages which mostly went but the loading user profile I cannot get rid of -- such a nuisance as It locks up the whole screen and then of course you cannot get even into the system to do the factory reset. I Think the electronics on this car have been poor from the outset. Unfortunately BCA coming to inspect the car on monday not sure what happens when they see the LOADING USER PROFILE which will not go away....
  9. thanks glad to see it is not just my vehicle -- I hope Skoda themselves see the input from people and try to make it less 'sensitive' as the dealer mentioned
  10. I Might have raised this on here before, not sure. Having terrible problems with the emergency braking on the car - our road is on a gentle bend and coming along home the car suddenly brakes violently and the red emergency light flashes up. There is nothing else in the road except for a few parked cars - not going fast or particularly near the parked cars. Wonder if anyone else has had similar problems - I mentioned it to the local dealeer whose response was 'it is quite sensitive...' - Service due in five or six weeks and will get them to look at then but he didn't sound particularly hopeful on the phone.
  11. No the car is not at all under powered - I sometimes wonder if it really is just 1.0 3 cylinders. Got mine in March 2021 but unfortunately whilst I like the car to drive the electrical problems are driving me mad and I think I will pay the release clause to ditch the car this year. Shame that such a nice car to drive is let down by glitches like this.
  12. i Have had my Octavia almost a year now and I think this is a common problem with Skoda -- this morning, as it has done once or twice before, I come up the road with not another car in sight and the warning comes on and the cup brakes quite suddenly. I like the car to drive (1.0 e-tec) but am bit fed up with the electrics on the vehicle - LOADING USE PROFILE comes on now and then and does not go off which effectively means the screen (including phone etc) are unuseable. I intend to dump the car this year because whilst I like driving it I am fed up with the electronics on it -- wish manufacturers would go back to knobs and buttons.
  13. My current e-tec is my 5th Skoda and the only one I have problems with --i get gash warning lights often and my screen locks up so that I have to get out the car, shut the doors and lock it so when I get back in it is ok again. I had one of the new golf mk 8s and again had that out for two weeks. We need some cars with knobs and buttons rather than driving round in computerized toys --what a joy my mk III Octavia was !
  14. Interesting -- got my Mk IV in early March 2021 and yes have odd electrical issues with the car. The ABS has a bit of a mind of its own - without being too close to another vehicle it will operate itsself; Odd system warning lights come on now and then but mean nothing as the next time I turn the ignition on they have gone. The infotainment system jams on the LOADING USER PROFILE which then locks up the whole thing.
  15. Anyone know how one can get rid of this ? -- intermittently my screen on start up has LOADING USER PROFILE which then stops you using the screen at all and basically I cannot remove it lest I stop the car, turn off the engine and lock the car up. I Have no intest really in using the info system much except for radio and phone -- I sort of think it must be something to do with the skoda software that came with the car
