  1. Hey all, So, I’ve had my mk iv estate for just over a year now and expecting that a service is due - as are the dealer as have had a reminder however when checking the infotainment system the car still state another year or 18700 mile until a service is required The car is low mileage, only circa 5k as now working from home, so now the car is more of a run around, which isn’t great with lot of short cold engine journeys. Doesn’t seem right to me, I know some car are set to a ‘variable service schedule’ and could push the service out to 2 years but surely the car should reign in the service schedule if doing lot of short around town journeys? Thought? What’s the service schedule?
  2. Hi all, I have a 1.5tsi manual gearbox estate with about 700 mile on the clock and have been having intermittent issues with engage 1st gear from stationary. Its fine most of the time, but maybe 1st and 2nd are a little notchy - other time they feel smoother engaging but the on occasion i struggle to get the car into 1st often when moving away from traffic lights. To engage 1st geat I have to change first to 2nd then I’m able to engage 1st to move away! Like I say this is intermittent but sometime happens few time on a single short journey. I’ve got it booked into the dealer in a few weeks but interested to hear what everyone’s thoughts are or if anyone else has had the same issue?
  3. How did you get on with the diagnostic run, did you figure out what the issue was? Thanks
  4. I have the same issue and I’m UK based, my head unit part number ends in H. I’d be really interested in knowing the outcome from your dealer. The dealership I brought the car from has suggested a software issue but are generally being pretty unhelpful and cannot tell me if there is actually an update available to fix it! They have suggested the only way to find out if there is an update is to plug the car into the diagnostic system. As they’re a couple of hours drive away, I don’t want to go unless I know there is an chance of getting this resolved! Surely, if they have my VIN number they could just search on some Skoda system to see if there is an update for my car?Apparently not according to them!
  5. I think the issue here and in my case is that there is no option to enable in car Wi-Fi/ hot spot in any of the menus. On trying to connect wirelessly a pop up asks to anabke Wi-Fi but this doesn’t do anything and kicky you back to the start of the process to connect the phone wirelessly! There must be some software or hardware issue…
  6. I’m having the same issue with my car delivered last week - I can’t get CarPlay to work with out connecting via usb cable. When trying to connect wirelessly I get the same message to turn on Wi-Fi but this does nothing and no Wi-Fi option in the menu. I suspect, as does the dealer, that this is a software error and some form of update will be required! Great!
  7. So I finally picked up my new octavia SE estate this morning, after ordering mid July 2021, so not too bad a wait on the scale of things. Really please with the car on the drive home but having an issue wiith apple CarPlay. I can connect my phone over Bluetooth but can’t get carplay to work wirelessly. Will try with a cable later. on selecting CarPlay on the infotainment it asks to switch Wi-Fi on on the infotainment system for it to work - A pop up appear asking to switch Wi-Fi on but it doesn't seem to do anything? I also can’t find any setting in the menu to do with Wi-Fi? Wi-Fi is on on my phone. any ideas to switch on Wi-Fi and get wireless carplay to work? I am right in thinking i should have wireless car play? The dealer wasn’t much help either, I asked about this and was told it would work after setting myself up as the primary user but after having done this there is no change? Any help appreciated. thanks
  8. Looks like a good fit and competitive price 👍 With it being a plastic tray do you fined the load in the boot slides around when driving? Cheers
  9. Hi all, So my new octavia is now in the UK so should be taking delivery soon. I will be after a plastic/ rubber boot liner tray - does anyone have any recommendations? I’ve seen a few online but concerned about all the items in the boot sliding around, are there any with a decent non-slip liner? thanks in advance
  10. As far as i’m aware, I never had a ‘provisional’ build date. My status went straight from awaiting factory acceptance to a ‘real’ build date of week 50 just two weeks before being build.
  11. The dealer had been giving me regular updates, albeit the updates we only to say they had check the build system and the order was awaiting factory acceptance. This only changed 2 weeks ago, when a week 50 build date was assigned.
  12. I ordered a 1.5tsi SE estate in mid-July and was given an ambitious mid-November delivery date needless to say this wasn’t met. However, just this morning had a email from the dealer to say the car has just left the line and is sat awaiting transport to the port for shipping. It should be available to pick up from the dealer in January, so all in all not to long a wait…
  13. Finally, I have been given a build date of week 50. Up until now the order had not even been accepted by the factory. I ordered mid- July so on the grand scale of things, if the car is built then, the wait won’t have been too bad. This is however for one of the more basic spec models, an SE estate 1.5tsi. fingers crossed, it is built then and hopefully should arrive here in the UK in January…
  14. Out of interest, what engine and trim have you ordered? In order around the same time, a 1.5 tsi SE estate…
  15. Received this updated from my dealer today for a 1.5tsi estate SE ordered in mid June. ‘No real news to give you at the moment regarding your new Octavia Estate. But just so you are as in the loop on production as I am, the 2 updates below are the latest we have had from Skoda themselves. Update 21 September 2021: The factory will stop production lines in the Mladá Boleslav and Kvasiny plants for the entire calendar week 39, which was already due to be a shorter production week because of bank holidays in the Czech Republic. Further COVID-19 outbreaks in Asia, for example in Malaysia, are forcing semiconductor manufacturers to close their factories again. This has resulted in industry-wide adjustments to car production, and ŠKODA AUTO is also affected. Update 23 September 2021: We’re experiencing delays in production because of ongoing extended lead times for vital components. We’ll keep you informed of any updates on production, as well as any information on when affected units will be rescheduled in production. I know this isn’t the news you were wanting to hear and it certainly isn’t the news I wanted to be giving. I will endeavour to keep in touch with any updates as and when they happen.’
