  1. Basically totally fed up with the electric windows, it's had a new loom, new switches, but not the convenience unit, I'm kind of loathed to fit one and then have them break again 6 months down the line, is fitting Front wind up windows an option, did any roomster come with them, or can any be fitted from say a fabia ? Thanks Matt
  2. Haven't fitted it as yet as I'm a bit reluctant without knowing the settings not to use it on I do get where some of the other poster's are coming from but all I wanted was the settings not to use it on and they should be a standard thing on this unit for my vehicle, I'm not asking for warranty work and I'm not expecting them to stand to any problems that may occur from fitting it either
  3. So I bought a second hand DTUk tuning box, it's for my yeti so it's the cr170 version I have the original receipt so I know it's the correct one for the car, so upon getting the unit you read the instructions as you do and in the instructions it says, some vehicles can not run certain settings so get in touch for advice. Ok fine so I fire an email off to dtuk tell them the situation, this should be an easy thing they receive the email and they then say ok yeah don't use settings blah blah blah for the cr170 No they refuse to tell me anything due to there insurance not allowing them due to the fact I'm not the original purchaser. I don't see how someone having bought something albeit second hand ( as many people do ) with the original purchase receipt can not be told a simple thing of the settings it shouldn't use, regardless of the purchaser or the unit the settings not to use would be the same for my vehicle, I just find it pathetic that they won't divulge this information given the proof I have it's the correct unit for my car The idea was see what this unit was like then if I got on with it then I'd sell it on and get the newer app control unit, tbh I won't be buying anything from them (I realise I have entered yet but no future purchases will be made from them) given experience as it's left a sour taste Or am I being unreasonable ?
  4. Hi all, I've just got myself the above mentioned unit and I'm wanting to fit it myself, but I'm wanting to see were people have the usb cable's located, also more importantly were the dab aerial and the gps module is located and were the associated wiring runs and exits the dashboard, if this could be shown with pictures it'd be greatly appreciated Thanks Matt
  5. Not sure it's because of cheaper Chinese unit's, think it's because they're more available now and the others that sell have been cheaper than this one, I'm looking for one myself but the price of this puts it in the Kenwood dnx525 price range and that's a much better unit
  6. Replace the driver's door wiring loom and all will be fixed, very easy job to do should take around an hour start to finish, just get some spare clips for the door card and you'll need a drill to remove the rivets for the speaker and then some to refit it
  7. Fixed it, when they cut the wires they had left about 10mm of wire so I managed to re solder the wires to the main loom plug and then just fit the new loom as per normal, extremely lucky though as the gf was about to take it to the dealers to be fixed wonder how much a new loom would have cost to fit as I don't think they'd have messed about fixing the old plug
  8. So my partner's roomster has had the standard electric window issue however it's gone into her local garage for them to fix it, it's come back and it's not fixed so I did some looking into it found this site and then found the now known door issue with them, so we got the loom from Skoda. In a very short time I had the door card off and thought it would be a relatively easy loom change. This would have been an easy loom change however the Muppet at the garage has cut into the main loom on the inside of the car and run a wire to the door loom........I now have no way to fit the new loom as 2 of the wires in the plug to the main loom aren't there and in place 2 wires that are cut into the main loom......anoyed is an understatement I don't want to have to get the main loom replaced so has anyone had to get any new plugs for this block of wires or would I be better to just go to a breaker's and cut that section of the loom out and resolder a new plug in place ? If that's the better option is anyone breaking a 2007 roomster that has electric windows that can cut that section out for me Any other thoughts appreciated Thanks Matt
  9. Ok so it looks like it's the power boost one I was after lol, back on mate I'll take it
  10. No problem Paul, sorry but I'll leave it I didn't zoom in properly, the Bluetooth wasn't an issue but it's the hp increase unit I'm after, glwts I'm sure it'll not be around for long at that price Thanks Matt
  11. You looked better than I did lol thanks for the clarification on that
  12. 60 posted for the pedals, mats and mirrors any good ? Thanks Matt
  13. Hi is it this one but without the Bluetooth https://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/product/dtuk-crd-t-dual-channel-fuel-and-boost-system-for-car-skoda-yeti-from-2009-onwards-2-0-tdi-4x4-170ps125kw-1968-ccm/ If it is that one I'll take it Thanks Matt
  14. Yeah I must admit it's your car that put me on track for them, and I'm thinking that they are the ones I'll be getting rather than the Monte Carlo ones as like you say they do make an impression on the car, enjoyed reading your build thread aswell
  15. All yeti's have plastic removable side skirts fitted, simply replacing it for one that's colour coded
  16. Yeah it's not the ones in the picture i was referring to it's the Monte Carlo ones in the link I was asking about although I do like the ones pictured, as for the insurance they're all genuine Skoda parts and as they'd be replacing the existing side skirts fitted no declaration is required
  17. Yeah it was beadle's Skoda in Maidstone but I suspect it's someone just answering the questions but surely they need to know what they're talking about, yes your correct in the tyre size she has at the moment, it's more the fact she really doesn't like the lower profile tyre's, the ones being sold are 5x100 it was just the tyre size that I wanted to be sure about Thanks Matt
  18. Hi all, the gf has a 2007 1.9tdi roomster and she hates with a passion the 16s it came with as standard with the 45 profile tyre's, so I'm thinking 15s would make it a nicer ride with bigger profile tyre's, I've found some 15" fabia alloys that have 185/60s fitted....... basically are they going to fit ok, believe it or not they're being sold by a Skoda dealer on eBay and I've asked the question and sent the reg plate so they had all the information and the reply was............ not sure they're going to fit !!! With no reason given Can any confirm that they will fit or not Thanks
  19. Thanks for all the advice everyone had given, just as a recap it was soaked in so the spill guard wouldn't have worked but it's very handy if you have it on hand for immediate spills What I used was swarfega drive cleaner for block paving, I followed the instructions and diluted it but it didn't do anything, however all the reviews I'd read said use it neat so I reaplied without dilution, It worked it did take a few applications but every application removed more and more, totally clean drive with no damage and can't even tell where it was If you get a spill or have any I'd highly recommend it Thanks again for the suggestions
  20. No not those, I have seen this and really like them but in my search for these on super Skoda I found the others, the ones I mean actually replace the existing ones http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/YETI/Skoda-Yeti-09-16-original-Skoda-Autoas-exterior-side-skirts-MONTE-CARLO-Black-magic-paint Should have done this first time lol
  21. So I've got a pre facelift that I'm wanting to change up a bit and I've seen some side skirts on superskoda, they look like they're for the Monte Carlo but fit my shape Also, has anyone had some of these as I'd like to see how they look on the older model, done a quick Google but nothing really popped up Thanks Matt
  22. Ok so I've bought yeti to replace my Renault megane I had, so I parked the megane on my partner's drive while I sold it, the drive was recently block paved...........can you guess where this is going ? the previously faultless Renault has decided to get miffed off at the fact it's been dumped for a yeti and decided to pop a rear shock and drop oil onto the drive, needless to say one very very flustered gf Anyone managed to get oil off block paving, it's not the standard red it's grey ( not sure that will make a difference) I'd like to try and get it off first myself, if all else fails it will be a call to the pavers to get the blocks replaced as needed but if this could be avoided then that'd be great Thanks Matt
  23. Potentially 185 bhp from a 110, is that not pushing it a bit from standard, I know the 110 and 140 use the same engine and turbo so 140/150 is a safe bet but the Extra 30 might start to make bits fail sooner than later, the 170s run bigger turbos, I know it's nice to get as much as possible but maybe that's a bit to much ?
  24. As it happens I've just thought stuff it and bought the Natty's wax aswell, I have got other wax but just liked the idea of having a wax for darker cars
  25. Is the loom you have in your picture easy enough to get out, my gfs windows have stopped working and I'm assuming this will be the problem
