  1. Hi I am looking at getting a towbar put on my Kodiaq (2.0tdi, 150 dsg 7 seat)
I have spoken to Skoda who want in excess of £1500 as i require cooling upgrade (grill replacement)
I've never upgraded cooling on a car when fitting a towbar, usually having a detachable, and as I can get a detachable for £620 i'm wondering if it is "essential" and if so does anybody know what the new grill part number is, I guess I could get this part and fit it myself if it is just the grill?

    Cheers

I have lots of treble middle and bass...sometimes even too much bass. Just set sound focus to DRIVER to actiavate the front middle speaker. Disable surround and here you have acceptable sound. Radio station varies from quality...but cd-s spotify and bluetooth sound is absolutely great.

Went out at lunch, played with the settings, putting the sound focus as front and turned off surround and it is much much better thank you!

I know a lecturer that uses Capital stations as an example of how to ruin sound by the application of excessive compression 8-)

I tried both on Capital and Kiss, Kiss was far clearer so your known Lecturer may be correct

  3. Thanks Fuzz I'll give this a go when i'm out at my car next.
It is on the Radio where I have been underwhelmed, listening to some Capital Xtra!
I'll connect up some bassy music on Amazon Music and try that so if it makes any difference

  4. I have the Canton system and am completely underwhelmed. The Bass is basically non-existent so not sure if it is right!
I was hoping for a nicely balanced sound system, but i seem to get only mid and treble. - this is with turning the "Sub" up to 9. - at -9 or +9 it seems to make no difference to the bass whilst sat in the front.

  5. Thanks I ordered and received this - SBBR Top' (565052000D) - it was just fuses but going to be going in the car non the least.
I hope not to have an issue with the bulb as LED bulbs are supposed to last a long time, i don't like the idea of an argument with a gendarme!

  6. I have a Skoda Kodiaq SEL on order due for build next week.
It is booked for 2 trips abroad this year and one of the french legal restrictions is a spare bulb set

How do i get spare bulbs as this is an LED headlight set? Is it reasonable to be able to change these yourself if one goes?

    Cheers

  7. Hi Everyone.

Thought i'd give an update on this.

Skoda is removing Wireless Charging in ALL cars with "immediate effect"
In real terms it is coming into affect after build week 17.
My car is week 16 so should be OK but do check with your dealer.

The rumour is it is being pulled as they over heat.

    This was my Dealers response

"You are correct, these have been removed with immediate effect without specific reasons - but yes I have heard the same rumours.

Cars that had it as standard specification have not been reduced in price (which I personally object to) but obviously this is different with your car.

Your family's safety must come first of course, but I will make sure you are in no way out of pocket whatever Skoda's stance."

    Hope that helps
  8. After my issues with my local dealership I was recommended to try Wings for ordering my Kodiaq.
They have been honest with me the whole way through and helped ease any concerns I had.

I am Part Ex'ing my current car, and rather than driving it to Peterborough for them to price up he was happy for me to take pictures and then quote from that.
I even purchased the car over the phone, out of hours, as this was easier for me.

They've been quick to answer any questions and I just hope picking up the car when it arrives goes as smoothly.
Purchasing was faultless and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone

  9. Wasted my time going to Robinson Skoda when trying to order my Kodiaq.
I have issue with Robinson Motor Group anyway as their VW dealerships are nothing short of con artists (i bought my Tiguan from them) - that being said Robinson Audi of Norwich have always been good with my Audi.

Putting aside my issues I went into Robinsons at the beginning of Feb and asked to have a test drive in a Kodiaq - "Yes Sir, I can do that, how about End of March"
I then spoke to Simpson's Great Yarmouth who were helpful when it came to the test drive - and I test drove that weekend.

Simpsons advised me to create the car I wanted on Skoda configurator and  send it to them so they could see what sort of deal they could do.
So after completing the configurator I sent it to both Simpsons and Robinsons and had explained that i'd now test driven and was ready to order.

Robinsons basically ignored my request for a price for my new factory built car,and tried to sell me what was on their shop floor at more money without the options i wanted.

I placed my order on 22 Feb through Wings of Peterborough who bent over backwards to do me a sale.

I then received an email from Robinsons in March offering me a test drive!

Robinsons lost a £34k sale due to their lack of providing a quote, not offering a test drive in a reasonable time period and clearly not listening.
I will not be using Robinsons for any work and will instead go to Simpsons in Great Yarmouth.
