  1. Eighteen months after picking up my new car minus its engine cover I took my car yesterday to the main dealer for an oil change. When I booked the service I was informed that an engine cover would be fitted. However when I collected the car I lifted the bonnet to discover no engine cover had been fitted. On returning to service reception to raise the subject I was informed that they didn’t have any in stock ….. so the wait goes on! Throughout the 18 month wait Skoda UK have been worse than useless and despite numerous calls to the dealership I have never succeeded in actually speaking to the Service Manager. I have had three new Skodas in the last six years, however the next time I spend over £40+ grand on a car I’ll make sure it’s not a Skoda.
  2. Toot, TTEC is who I contacted a couple of weeks ago, who then took my details and requested that I forward them copies of previous correspondence I had received from Skoda U.K, which I duly sent. On contacting TTEC yesterday they said that they had no record of my complaint a couple of weeks ago and referred me to Skoda U.K. Customer Service - hence back to square one.
  3. As you are someone who comes across as a person “who knows it all” maybe you can enlighten me as to what is the purpose of Skoda U.K. Customer Services if it is not to answer genuine enquiries from those who have a Skoda. Why couldn’t they inform me that the part is available and can be acquired through Main Dealer’s parts departments? Why has the service manager at the three main dealers I have contacted not advised that the part is available through their parts department, instead of stating that they have no idea? It appears that you are better informed than all of them.
  4. I was advised when I collected my new Kodiaq L&K 2.0 TSI last September that the missing engine cover will be fitted by the main dealer when a new replacement cover becomes available. One year on and despite several phone calls to Skoda U.K. Customer Services I am no further forward. They don’t know when or even if a cover will become available. I have asked them several times to contact Skoda HQ for an update on any progress being made to supply these covers and their reply, that they have no contact directly with Skoda HQ, has always remained the same. The main dealer has no idea either re this issue, however my call to VAG Customer Services at first appeared to be positive, especially when they took all my details and gave me a case number. They asked for copies of emails from Skoda U.K. Customer Services which I forwarded to them two weeks ago. However when I rang VAG today they denied having any knowledge of my complaint and suggested I get back in touch with Skoda U.K. Customer Services. I know there are some on here who will say you don’t need an engine cover as it’s purely cosmetic, however when you get a car costing in excess of £43K you should expect everything to be there. Due to the abysmal customer service I think this, my third new Skoda in the last six years, will be the very last vehicle from this manufacturer.
  5. I have noticed that you have said that engine covers are available for those cars that had them removed or were delivered without one. I would really appreciate knowing where you have obtained this information, as in my personal experience they are not. I have been in contact with Skoda U.K. and the main dealer about my missing cover for months, and I’ve been informed repeatedly that they do not know when or even IF replacement covers will ever be provided. I even suggested to Skoda U.K. that they contact Skoda HQ for clarification and they replied that they had no direct contact with Skoda U.K. (conversation recorded) and that Skoda U.K. obtain their information from the dealer network which to me is unbelievable. The engine covers were removed about 12 months ago and for Skoda U.K. to have not a clue regarding resolving this issue is totally unacceptable to me and no doubt others. This is my third new Skoda in five years, however due to woeful customer service it is very likely to be my last!
  6. Although I have had my new L&K since September I have never tried to wireless charge my iPhone until now. I have placed the phone on the charging area both in it’s protective cover and also without it, face down and face up but it still isn’t working. Is there something I am missing here? PS. There is still no sign of the missing engine cover I was informed by Soda UK that would be supplied by the main dealer. Despite recent new car deliveries now arriving with the newly designed covers, the Main Dealer doesn’t know when covers will be supplied by Skoda for those who didn’t get one, or even if they will be supplied at all.
  7. I have contacted the dealer again regarding my missing engine cover and they say that they have no information regarding a replacement so I rang Skoda U.K. again. Skoda U.K. state that they have no idea when or even if a replacement will be forthcoming. In reply I suggested that they ring/contact Skoda Head Office to ascertain what is going on. They said that Skoda U.K. has no contact with Skoda Head Office and that they can only find out information by contacting the U.K. dealer network. Back to square one! Absolutely incredible!!!
  8. Having contacted Skoda U.K. they have stated that they don’t know when or even IF a replacement will materialise. Main dealers I have contacted say they are ‘in the dark’. I know about the recall last year and that it effected all VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda cars with the 2.0TSI engine, but there has been no information regarding progress to rectify the situation.
  9. When I have paid in excess of £40K for a car I expect everything that I have paid for to be present. Although you may not be bothered about an engine cover, when I come to sell the car the lack of an engine cover may put off a prospective buyer.
  10. It’s now 6 months since I took delivery of my Kodiaq, minus its engine cover. Skoda U.K. are still unable to advise when or if a new engine cover will be available.
