  1. i would take the lot down especially if no ramp undo everything drop car to floor lift shell from rear subframe .As for rear steering a simple retrack should suffice (on the rear ) also gives easy access to any bushes for replacement .. Good luck mines out diff strip tomorrow ..
  2. Update on access holes they are drilled through one skin from underneath you can see them once the rear subrame is out see file:///C:/Users/Del/Downloads/D3E80473F31-Propshaft_and_rear_final_drive.pdf page 31 onwards but no markings inside the load area floor that i can see and getting the diff out on its own doesnt look fun to me
  3. we used to sell Chinese manufactured scooters ,the sell in grades 1 to 5 . no 1 is only sold to the likes of Honda Peugot etc numbers 2 downwards are available to ther dealers the quality variation is alarming with 2 being ok to 5 being scrap . obviously the prices reflect this though .
  4. in answer to your question on a 2015/16 there are no access holes i have a video proving this but too large to load on here
  5. dont think the bolts are accesable from the top
  6. has anyone got a link to the procedure to drop the diff unit ? or the UK bearing part numbers ? or someone near essex that can do it please
  7. Well after Skoda had one go i got this out and then they had it back again oh and i removed an unbroken bag
  8. MINE WAS 100% casting sand as it continued after a flush and bag removal
  9. ITS NOT ALWAYS THE BAG Casting sand was not allways fully removed from the block which vag group are fully aware of but wont admit
  10. ive had a water pump changed under warranty 2016 2 litre Scout 56000 miles but the problem was contaminated coolant (not the silica bag ) it appears that a number of engines had the casting sand left in the block . This causes the pump to try to circulate sludge Its a known VAG issue ..
  11. Sothend service dept are no good at all Service manager tried to fobb me off with 'there all like that' rubbish then had to transport to Maidstone some months later fault re occured in the cooling system (NOT THE SILICA BAG AS SUSPECTED ) southend were not interested ... Maidstone were brilliant Simon the service manager went above and beyond to sort the car (fingers crossed ) Would i go to Southend ? not even with a wheel barrow .
  12. Check out the vag forums . cant see what else it could be after checking the bag flushing and running without it the bag you get that out of it . Bear in mind it had a matrix water pump back in January and a flush Had a discusion with the dealer this afternoon , new engine is a possibility if it comes back again . or a good deal on a px now .....
  13. IF YOU MIX IT WITH ENOUGH WATER THOUGH ... ITS A KNOWN VAG FAULT
  14. well if its in the water ways it could be in the oilways .....
  15. That was colected by an inline filter in 48 hours after the vehicle was flushed nd clean
  16. What sand do you use for casting? Silica sand Silica sand is the most commonly used sand because of its great abundance, and, thus, low cost (therein being its greatest advantage). Its disadvantages are high thermal expansion, which can cause casting defects with high melting point metals, and low thermal conductivity, which can lead to unsound casting.
  17. so are you convinced it was a bag problem or a casting sand problem ?
  18. UPDATE ON MY ISSUE . My car had a flush and replacement heater matrix and water pump . Unfortunately the coolant went a very muddy brown colour again resulting in the car going back to the dealer on 24th October The car has been flushed numerous times (i was told 4 ) and the problem is still occuring , i was told that it was reccomended by Skoda to flush the system up to 14 times to to remove contaminants (can anyone confirm this ) The silica bag is intact (i have checked this ) so the only thing i think it can be is silica (or sand ) in the block from the casting process . Any thoughts ?
  19. notice the coolant is now g12 again after the upgrade to g13 ....
  20. Maybe diesel only cars ? I am begining to wonder if there is a problem with sand left in the castings ?
  21. so car returned to me with allegadly new heater matrix new water pump ( new cambelt although they said it really didnt need it ) system flush and everything works .... guess whats not been changed though .....
