  1. All issues sorted. Got Plug and Play D1S LED pair (6500k) from aliexpress and switched the halogen high beams to H3 Philips. Visibility has improved tenfold
  2. Hello again Been a while since I've posted here. So upgrade plans (F10 530d) have be thwarted (thanks corona). Hence, I intend to keep the Superb with me till the registration expires (5 more years). Because of the same, I intend to fix the few remaining problems (most by myself). All problems have a dedicate solution except this one. To start with, I just have one remote. When I tap the lock button or hold it for 5 seconds, all works fine (mirrors fold, windows roll up, sunroof closes). But when I want to unlock it, nothing happens. All hazard lights start flashing (like the alarm going off but without sound). Could someone tell me what the issue could be? I want to get it fixed at an outside workshop or do it myself as Skoda India is really bad at service and repairs and fleece you like anything. Thanks in advance
  3. Hello everyone Recently, my cleaning staff snapped my Superb II's right wiper arm (photo attached, RHD). I'm trying to source it locally but can't find one for Superb. Was wondering if one from Octavia II would fit the bill instead as those are readily available and more economical? Thanks
  4. Aye. Thanks for the advice. I'll ask the service center to do it.
  5. Hello again. So my car has the Bi-Xenon setup. Recently, I changed the D1S set to 6000K RCPs. It's an RHD. I feel the left bulb is a bit misalignment and not seated right. Picture attached for reference. Do I need to get it seated correctly? Thanks
  6. Had the OEM Philips Xenstart 4300K before. Did not like it at all. I have 6000K H8 LEDs running in the fog lights. The color projected is somewhat in-between the 6000K HIDs and OEM 4300K. Also, wouldn't mind upgrading the high-beam H3 halogens to LEDs as well.
  7. Hey, thanks for the response. I changed to new RCP 6000k D1S pair about 3 months back and while they seem good enough, I just need some more low beam illumination without losing the slight hint of blue. Besides, a friend of mine also wants to upgrade his factory HIDs ('12 Octavia II L&K) to LEDs, so I got curious as well. Most plug and play bulbs don't even have the D1S mount. Yes, you are absolutely right about BCM taking the load. I wonder if they are adapters for voltage balancing. Do the D1S have a built-in ballast?
  8. Hello again! Apparently I am not satisfied with the response time of the D1S HIDs in the low-beam projectors of my '09 Superb MkII. Now I see all these D1S LED conversion kits online and an urge to try them out. However, I am not sure if the plug-and-play LEDs will light up or just explode as the ballast creates a very high voltage to start-up the HID lamps. Could anyone kindly shed some 'light' on this doubt? Thanks and regards
  9. The problem with India is, an RS5 would have set you back by £100,000 + taxes.
  10. Thanks a ton, mates. The dealer owned up and it is now being fixed at a minimal cost. P.S: Can anyone suggest good 16 inch rims? Also, I have all four Michelin Primacy ST3 205/55 R16s. What happens if I 'plus zero' to 215/55 or 225/55 besides increased grip?
  11. They reset the belt in basic. But told me to get a new timing kit in a month's time. They didn't think that the belt would fail so fast or it was simply a ploy to rob me.
  12. The engine was fine. Wouldn't have run for 20-25km normal if it was. Well, they said they they timed and refit the belt because it was jumping.
  13. Yes. It is as you have reiterated. I did contact the customer services. I have a telephonic appointment tomorrow. Will give them hell.
  14. A a day before this incident they reset the belt. It is an authorised center. That was the only issue. The belt had jumped so the car wouldn't start. I gave them a go-ahead for opening. They said they did a reset on the belt and drove the car for 20km, working absolutely fine. Next day, I turn up, pay whatever required for resetting and set off. I was told that I should get a new belt within a month. I thought I'd come next week and drop the car off since I live 60km away from the center and have a strong need of a vehicle. 20-25km from the center, sudden power loss on the motorway. Voila, belt gone bad. They never pick up any calls. All this happened on the 12th of November. Come 15th, they were sleeping on it for 3 days and then suddenly decided to ask me for an approval to access the engine for inspection. I mailed the approval since I could not visit due to work. I called the technical assistant yesterday and he tells me that piston heads are gone and valves are bent. And this evening, I get that mail quoting 6 grand without even inspecting it, effectively saying "You didn't send us a mail, so here's a quote anyway". It's a pre-owned car from a used car dealer. Bought it in May '18.
