  1. DSG only here - no manual option available for either petrol or diesel in New Zealand ( and for your interest no 1L engine either) . Not sure if we have to meet the same emissions standards referred to in this discussion but I am very happy with the 1.5 with DSG box. Plenty of grunt and no hesitation from a standstill.
  2. Hello GKodi. Very disappointing for you. I suffer from the same over attention to detail and once I have seen a lapse in standards I just can't unsee it no matter how hard I try. Just a thought - have you looked into having the roof spray painted ? There was very little price difference between spraying and wrapping so I went with the spraying/painting. May be different in the UK but here in the Colonies it was $400.00 for wrap and $450.00 for respray. Far more robust finish but of course it is permanent although I suppose it can be resprayed back to original. PS : They didn't remove the roof rails just masked them off and sprayed.
  3. Thanks GKodi - no long white clouds today, not a cloud in the sky and a balmy 24 deg. Think I'll clean the car ! Enjoy your new motor and travel safely.
  4. Well done GKodi. Your Karoq looks very smart. Hope you are pleased with how the mag wheels came up in the black. I think the black really suits the Braga style.
  5. Sounds great GKodi. Any chance of some photos when you are all kitted out ?
  6. and then added running boards and mudflaps. When to stop with the extras ? Think it will look really sharp with the Meteor Grey. Anyway we are on holiday in Melbourne and it is bedtime here so all the best with your decision. Cheers.
  7. I went for the matt/satin personally and they have been fine with regard to brake dust, and also for the mirrors and spoiler.
  8. Each to their own. I had the 18 inch factory Bragas ( plus the spoiler and side mirrors ) painted black. $500.00 NZD a lot cheaper than new alloys and really happy with them.
  9. This photo shows the part of the mount that sits against the chassis behind the ridge you can see under the door sills.
  10. Thats it. There is a rubber strip that sits nicely against the chassis just under the door sill seal. Looks neat and tidy. Havent personally noted the rear door dirt problem but we dont have snow/ slush etc where we live and have only driven a couple of hundred kilometres.
  11. They are not Skoda OEM. Third party. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Nerf-bar-foot-board-side-step-side-bar-pedal-for-SKODA-KAROQ-2017-2018-OE-model/32860155943.html?scm=1007.13339.99728.0&scm_id=1007.13339.99728.0&scm-url=1007.13339.99728.0&pvid=1fb23c19-396f-4e72-bfcf-29f6068cf3ea&_t=pvid:1fb23c19-396f-4e72-bfcf-29f6068cf3ea,scm-url:1007.13339.99728.0 NIne days from order to our doorstep in New Zealand
  12. All eight mounts ( four each side are the same ). Remove the rubber bungs ( pictured) on the chassis under the door sills, insert the T-bar bolts and attach. the bar fits over the ridge and sits against the chassis. The two bolts to the left of the photo are holding on the side step. Seems all solid but I am not a panel beater or mechanic, just a home (car) handyman. The mountings supplied are different to the ones pictured in the advert but all eight are the same. Hope this makes sense. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Nerf-bar-foot-board-side-step-side-bar-pedal-for-SKODA-KAROQ-2017-2018-OE-model/32860155943.html?scm=1007.13339.99728.0&scm_id=1007.13339.99728.0&scm-url=1007.13339.99728.0&pvid=1fb23c19-396f-4e72-bfcf-29f6068cf3ea&_t=pvid:1fb23c19-396f-4e72-bfcf-29f6068cf3ea,scm-url:1007.13339.99728.0
  13. Hello from the colonies. While you have all been sleeping I have fitted my new side steps which I ordered through Aliexpress. They seem solid and as described, No instructions but easy enough to fit - just fiddly really. Took about an hour and a half for the first side and about an hour for the second side. No drilling. No need to remove or cut into the plastic under trays. Fitted with the mud guards in place. No need to jack the car up - just a lot of crawling around - thank heavens for garage carpet So we will see but very pleased at this stage. Note in the packing that " If you are not happy we will service you until you are completely satisfied" - can't ask for better than that !!
  14. Can't help with your query but just find it interesting the different specs in different countries. In New Zealand there is no 1.0 option and no manual option at all across the entire range, only DSG. I doubt there is any main stream vehicle manufacturer that offers manual now and I suspect 80% of under 35s would have no idea how to drive a manual. I am sure you will be pleased with your choice.
  15. Hello, Has anyone experience with fitting these themselves ( mudflaps already fitted ) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-Arrival-running-board-side-step-side-bar-foot-bar-Pedal-for-SKODA-KAROQ-2017-2018/32858020634.html Thinking about purchasing as Skoda OEM are ridiculously expensive. Thanks
