  1. No, no rattles, it's really quiet, and starts first turn of the key even when it's -zero in winter, if it was rattling I'd be getting the garage to check it out.... SO, is it a camchain or cambelt ? ..... Off the V5,......variant..(AACAXAX01.....version..NFD7FD7AM006.. it's an octavia elegance TSI S0A..May 2010......
  2. I've got a 2010 Octavia 1.4 petrol, I bought it when it was 3 years old, I've never had the cam-belt changed or looked at, the car's done 110,000+ miles, serviced every year "I'm thinking only basic service/oil change", am I lucky or should I get it checked.......
  3. Just checked the tires, there doesn't appear to be any wear....
  4. Hi.... I'm getting “I can only describe it as” a humming/yowl sound when I'm driving in both normal drive and sports mode,...the sound gets louder the faster I go,...it's even there when I let the car coast along in neutral, but isn't there when I stop and idle the engine.. There is no other “peculiar” noises or warning lights appearing on the dash The car is a 2010 Octavia, 115000 miles, Serviced every year or 10000 miles by my local "non-Skoda" garage.... mick
  5. Any idea where I can get a "Blank" Service Schedule/Record Book, I've just filled the last page in my present one...... Skoda will probably charge more for one than a Charles Dickens 1st Edition.... mick
  6. Thanks, the video is especially helpful..... mick
  7. How do you get to the bulbs, the owner's handbook suggests removing/pulling out the small grill to the right or left of the DRL light cluster, but mine is impossible to pull out, and I don't want to damage it if it's not supposed to come out, is there a special knack or tool required.. When I take the car for a service, the mechanics have to get the bulb from behind "ie from in front of the wheel".............which is a bit of a kerfuffle just to change a lightbulb... It's a 2010 Octavia... mick...
