  1. Wow cheers for that info dude! Cleared pretty much everything up. I'm happy with the ride height and comfort of the VRS. One of the main reasons I bought it, so standard is fine for me. Thanks for the links as well. Had those bilstein shocks in my basket for a while on autodoc. Glad they are the right ones. You've been a big help!
  2. Did you figure out the “sports suspension” dilemma? I need new shocks and hit same wall, being thrown by the “for vehicles with sports suspension” I’m assuming the optional sports suspension would be the same as the standard VRS suspension because it would make VAG’s then experience says VAG are needlessly difficult >.<
  3. No codes at all. Which makes me think the ECU doesn't realise there is a problem. Pedal feels fine, no resistance. A gen 3 would be ace but was just out of my price range when I got the mk2 :( I am debating going back to stock because it wasn't an issue before the map. Or if it was I couldn't feel it. Think it might be for the best then try somewhere else
  4. It is very frustrating. I've had a look at the similar threads on here and on the Golf GTI forums and all are pretty much inconclusive. Had the carbon clean done and brand new injectors a couple of weeks before the map so it shouldn't be anything to do with that. Unicorn seem to be good. Loads of positive reviews and they are supposed to be a VAG tuning specialist. But having said that they didn't really have the car that long so don't know if it's a generic map they developed for 2L TSI and just load that one all the time. I don't want to slag off anyone's work though, but it never happened before the map. Was debating going to west yorkshire tuning who seem to pride themselves on fixing other maps and they have a lot of experience with VAG, try and get in at Rtech and let them have a look or do what I was going to do in the first place and get APR stage 1. Did come across a couple of threads on the GTI forum that mentioned the accelerator pedal and with it being drive by wire there's something to do with the signal being sent from the pedal not being right so the ECU doesn't really not what to do as opposed to something happening at that rev range it's more the position of the pedal but I've got no idea. People in the states had similar issues with APR maps and then apparently APR brought out an update and it was fixed. I've got no idea
  5. I've no idea about that. Where is located and how would I check it?
  6. Done it a few times now, and the intake manifold calibration but no change
  7. Requested vs actual boost are ok and awesomegti checked the wastegate actuator and said it was fine. I had a play with it when I fit the DV+ and there was no movement in it.
  8. Ho guys, I know there are lots of threads but none seem to be covering what I'm experiencing. 2011 VRS TSI manual, with ramair intake, custom cat back and now stage 1 remap from Unicorn motor developments in Stockport. So issue is when accelerating on anything other than full throttle, around 2500 - 4000 rpm the car seems to loose power briefly then it comes back. The revs and speed keep increasing but it just seems to stop. As if either fuel, air or turbo has suddenly stopped. Been back to Unicorn, found it running rich so leaned it off and still no change. Ran live logs but couldn't find anything else. Had it checked by my local VAG specialist and Awesomegti and all came back fine. Also no warning lights or fault codes. I've cleaned throttle body, change spark plugs, changed to Audi R8 coils, changed MAP sensor, newest DV and added the GFB DV+ and changed the N75 valve along with the PCV and still no change. Really at a loss as to what could be causing it or what to check? I've got VCDS so can do logs myself. Fuel pressure and MAF readings all seem to he fine.
  9. Hi folks, recently retrofitted a maxi dot display to my 2011 Octavia VRS Facelift. It works fine but its missing the convenience menu and the lights and vision menu. Is this something to do with the maxi dot software or am I missing any hardware? I've got VCDS so can have a good route round but haven't found in any of the control modules an option to activate these menus like in the pre face lift cars. Could some body point me in the right direction for what to do? My central electrics module (control module 9) part number is 1K0 937 097 J. This control module has taken over from module 46 the comfort control module that was on the pre facelift right? As there is no response from module 46 when I plug in VCDS Thanks everyone!
  10. Have a look at custom made? Usually a decent place will be able to specify what you want and they should be able to make it for you 👍
  11. I'm assuming the climate control from a MK6 gti would work in a MK2 Octavia VRS? They are the same shape and button layout it the same but I think the GTI controls look a bit a nicer. Thinking of swapping them
  12. Didn't get the RS4 fuel valve or MAP sensor. Got no idea about the RS4 fuel valve to be honest. Not sure about the actuator at the minute, want to make sure I know what's going on before trying more things. Be earger to hear if the fuel valve helps you out though. It seems to he a relatively common thing but no one can say for definite what it is
  13. Requested and actual seen fine, logged the N75 as well and it's working when it happens. Was starting to think it's compressor surge but if it was would the actual boost be less than the requested? Can hear that text book 'flutter noice' associated with surge all be it not dead loud
  14. Mileage is 61000. I was thinking the wastegate but the garages said the turbo and everything looked ok. There was no play in the wastegate arm when I installed the DV+ in September. Have looked at the Forge wastegate actuator as replacement just to try but don't want to be spending more time and money on what it could be :( it's really bugging me. The only saving grace is that I don't really drive in those gears at the RPM so can drive around it. It's just annoying haha. Seen a few people on MK6 gti forums with similar symptoms but no cause or fix.
  15. Hi folks, hope you can help me, also sorry for the huge post. Ive got a 2011 Octavia VRS and under part to half throttle the car will start to accelerate then suddenly feel like it’s trying to be held back, can hear the DV venting air then will suddenly accelerate fine again. Happens in any gear but usually between 2000 and 3500 RPM. Will happen all the time at 70mp 6th gear and part throttle and about 30mph 4th bear with part throttle. Sometimes it’s only a little bit but sometimes in quite violent and the car almost stops accelerating fully, but the Rev counter will still increase slowly and can hear the revs bouncing up and down. Full throttle seems fine so far. Only started happening after a stage 1 remap from Unicorn Motor Developments in Stockport who are a Porsche and VAG specialist with lots of good reviews. Have been back and they logged a load of stuff with VCDS and despite feeling it when we were out they couldn’t figure out what it could be. Have had it checked at AwesomeGTI and my local VAG specialist garage and neither can find anything wrong. There is no CEL and no fault codes. So far I’ve had an intake carbon clean and new injectors, cleaned and readapted the throttle body, changed the PCV valve, MAP sensor, swapped the piston type DV, added the GFB DV+, swapped to NGK iridium spark plugs with Audi R8 coils. There are no boost leaks found. Fuel pressure specified and actual are fine, the MAF seems fine and the intake manifold flaps specified and actual are fine. I’ve got VCDS so can log stuff but I’m completely out of ideas. All I can think of is for some reason the ECU is triggering the diverter valve in that rev range but I’ve got no idea why. Mods are stage 1 remap from Unicorn Motor Developments in Stockport, Rammair intake, custom cat back exhaust, GFB DV+ and Audi R8 ignition coils,
  16. Any more joy on this issue? My VRS is doing the same. Changed the DV and added the DV+ but no joy :(
