Kenwood DNX516DABS issues
MetalMedic replied to Sean Nangle's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Don't suppose you guys would know if this adapter would work with a 2011 Octavia? Just fitted a kenwood dnx516dabs and like above have lost the nav from the maxidot and climate control on the screen etc. There is a box already attached to the loom but no brand on it -
Everything as in satnav directions and phone book like OEM? I'm interested in getting an android stereo but don't really want to loose out on the maxidot features.

Resurrecting a topic..... been looking at getting an android hesd unit. Like mentioned before, I have factory bluetooth module retrofitted, I saw that I will need to remove it. Would it be enough to just disconnect the module or will it need any wiring removing from anywhere like the quad lock? The module is not in the factory location (bue accessible) and not sure where the wiring goes to as it all disappears behind the dash so mot sure if it's a quad lock connected to the quad lock that's connected the stereo if that makes sense?

Hi, sorry to ask about suspension again. I appreciate there is a lot on the subject but I still can't find the right answer. I need to replace the front shocks and springs with the OEM or OEM equivalent. So far I have concluded the VRS as the 55mm strut diameter and has the 'sports suspension' as it is lower from factory by 15mm compared to other Octavias. Can someone please link me to a correct OEM set up for shock absorbers and springs? Think I have found on autodoc the correct bilstein shocks for 'sports suspension' but still struggling on springs. What are the correct height for the springs for the VRS? Pulling my hair out with all the different springs. If someone could link the correct springs that would be fantastic! Car is 2011, facelift, petrol, hatch with manual gear box.

Did you manage to fix this? I've got a 2011 Octavia the right scroll wheel has stopped selecting things. Can scroll fine and the others work but it won't actually select anything to bring up another menu like the audio or nav. It's rather annoying. Been like this for a few days now

Thanks for the quick response. The VRS is the same as the one you linked but I wanted to change the whole knob for completely different one. Got an Audi S line one as i think they look better, but leather boot was different. A pair of pliers and some brute force I managed to separate the leather boot from the knob and swap it over. Looks much better now. I did like the original one but just fancied a change.

Reviving an old thread. I've got an Audi knob to go on my mk2 facelift but struggling to the get the leather boot off the knob. I can see where it attaches but the black plastic just wont budge. Any tips? I was debating smashing it as the leather boot is going on the Audi one

I thought that might be the case :( going to have to look into getting RLS retrofitted then. I’m sure it can be done. Thanks for the confirmation!- 15 replies

Yeah sounds easy enough. Still not 100% on if or how to get the CH/LH lights working. Might try it with one of these ebay switches- 15 replies

Seen another thread saying you need to replace the windscreen to have the correct fitting for the sensor or something like that. I know people have fitted aftermarket auto lights and not had to replace the windscreen- 15 replies

Anyone get this fully working? I've activated CH/LH lights in VCDS, tried it with the fog lights as well but still nothing. I've retrofitted maxidot and got the lights and vision menu, activated it via that but again nothing. Is it possible? I don't like the idea of having to replace the windscreen, don't want this feature that much haha- 15 replies

Shock absorber replacement/fitment guide
MetalMedic replied to Russler's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Scuttle cover! That's what its called. I did notice what I assumed to be a plastic cover over where a nut or bolt would be holding the wiper arm in. Cool need to find something small enough to pop it off with. Thanks for you help!- 21 replies
