  1. Wireless charging is a sore point for some of us whose cars were delivered without the phone box fitted in 2018. Nearly 5 months to get a satisfactory outcome. Skoda's legendary Customer Service.
  2. Well its time to say goodbye. My Karoq has gone, after 18 years of relatively happy motoring I've left the Skoda family and joined the happy band of Kia drivers. Last Friday I took delivery of an e-Niro 4+, which does everything my Karoq did and more, including charging my phone without wires. Good Luck to you all. Stay Safe.
  3. Would appear to be normal, in my Driver's manual this is covered on page 199. It may run for up to 10 minutes.
  4. This can be switched off on my Karoq. In the manual I've found the option on page 215 under Park Pilot
  5. Here is a link to the Kia e-niro 2020 UK Driver's Manual. https://www.speakev.com/attachments/e-niro-2020-uk-manual-pdf.132703/
  6. Maybe not. It is all down to personal experience. Not one of the previous Skodas required anything from Skoda or the dealers other than than servicing. When I discovered that my Karoq had been delivered without the wireless charger, despite been advised by the dealer 3 days before delivery that is was fitted and be working even though the dealer had the car on site, the dealer didn't want to know neither did Skoda Customer Services. After 3 months of table tennis between the dealer and customer services it was resolver by Skoda Finance. It is the after sales service that has coloured my judgement. Not helped when I took my car in for the first service and the dealer couldn't give me my car back as the keys were no longer on site. The Karoq is a good car, personally I wouldn't say great, that would be the Octavia 1.8 Tsi DSG I bought in 2009. We chose the e-Niro because we wanted an electric car which has been proven i.e. not a brand new model which was still being road tested by customers. If you want an electric the Karoq doesn't fit the bill. As Tilt has suggested why not ask your questions here? Someone may be able to help.
  7. After 3 Octavias, 1 Yeti, a Citigo and a Karoq it is time to move on and after how I was treated by Skoda and my dealer over the absence of the phone charger, my wife and I decided no more Skodas, . Only resolved the charger issue to my satisfaction by telling Skoda Finance I wanted to reject the car. So we've decided to go electric and have already ordered an E-Niro. The response at our local dealer has been tremendous and no doubt we'll be treated better than our Karoq experience. Go for the Kia.
  8. Nothing to do with Cookies or the browser. To work it requires a location. My location was switched off in my PC.
  9. Have the same problem with Edge and Chrome.
  10. Does anyone have the full Skoda Connect service, i.e. the full subscription service, if so are you able to log into the website by means of a Windows 10 PC? I've tried on two different PCs and can't get in. Skoda Customer Services advise me that it is the Cookies settings on my PC. Anyone else enjoying the same high quality service?
  11. Yesterday my maps were all fully updated to 2020, by means of a download from the Skoda update portal. This was despite Skoda Connect showing no update available.
  12. My mistake, please accept my apologies.
  13. Thanks for the link, but the maps are dated July, I already have Skoda's maps from June so I'll wait. The photo you show above shows the maps I already have. On a related point Skoda have closed down the destinations web page this morning, so without the Skoda Connect app adding POIs may have become more difficult.
  14. Having bought a Skoda with 3 years worth of free map updates I expect to get my updates from Skoda. I've just contacted Skoda Customer Services to check when the update is coming as my 21 month old Karoq does not have an update available, I'm told there isn'y one at the moment. Srange. Here maps shows a the Castle Donington Relief road which isn't going to open until late January but I can't get an update to correctly show MI junction 24 which has been changed for 12 months.
  15. I don't have the part of Skoda Connect that generates Health Reports but I can't access the Online Update section from my car or the route planner from my PC. This comes after 6 weeks of trying to get the correct model of car to show up in the App. What with 4 months of trying to get the the refund last year for no charging mat and not being able to access what I paid for this year, this looks like my last Skoda. This one is the sixth but there's not likely to be a seventh.
  16. I lost mine twice in six weeks so took the car into the dealers. They had the car for two days and have installed a software update. Been OK for the last 3 weeks.
  17. Took the car in for its first service today. Still got no online service available before I left home but when I demonstrated to the Service Manager it suddenly downloaded a software update and became available. Still can't create new desintations via tha portal but Skoda customer services say that it is a known propblem awaiting a software update sometime this week.
  18. Is anyone else having difficulties with Skoda Connect? When trying to create a new destination on the Skoda Connect Portal the Map disappears and then I get an error message. Also in the car I get a message that the on line service is temporarily unavailable. It has been like this since Sunday
  19. I went for a data card. Look for one from 7 Day shop, mine had 20Gb for around £40 with 2 years to use it.
  20. There is a storage area under the arm rest that will hold two coins. I store my car park coins in the large storage compartment on the top of the dash.
  21. I adjusted my tyre pressures to 2.7 bar before making 2 journeys of 100 miles, I have not noticed any increase in harshness, in fact the Karoq's ride is a lot smoother than any Skoda I've had before. Have now managed to crack the 50 m.p.g. mark for these journeys, just at 50.2. I might have managed 48 from the Yeti.
  22. Over the last 7 days I have downloaded both updates. At the end of each both appeared to sit on 100%, I just left them and switched to the radio, next time I checked there were no new England updates. The maps do show updated road layouts that were not shown when I collected the car.
  23. Anyone else noticed the reflection of the driver's side air vent in the wing mirror?
  24. I have an Edition delivered to me on June 19th, I was advised that the Charging function would still work prior to delivery on June 15th, on June 19th and again on June 25th. Today I tried to charge a Samsung Galaxy S7 (purchased today) and it does not charge. I've contacted Skoda Chat this evening and the response was: I can see that when your vehicle was built this feature had been removed as an option and therefore will not be in your vehicle. I would advise speaking to the selling Retailer as they should have informed you of this, this applies to vehicles with production after April. I'm going to speak with Trading Standards before I go back to the dealer. Not going to just accept the lack of service from the dealer.
  25. When I placed my order on 27th February I was told by the dealer that the lead time was 16 to 20 weeks. My car is now built and on its way to Emden, so I should take delivery within that timescale. If your dealer gave a shorter time period blame them not Skoda. Any research will show you that the lead time for most new cars worth having is at least 16 weeks. When I asked about a Yeti back in 2009 I was told it would take 9 months so I bought an Octavia, that took 12 weeks.
