  1. Interesting that it seems to freeze if you interrupt ongoing action. All the times I noticed mine doing this was when I parked and didn't exit the car right away, but wanted to turn off the lights. I might just try to open the sunroof a few times and interrupt it to see what happens. I'd like to notice a pattern before going to the dealers, so that I can make it freeze on command so to say. If it's random it's hard to prove it's doing something wrong.
  2. Hi all! Just got a brand new RS about 14 days ago, and the only thing that currently annoys me about the car is that I sometimes can't toggle the interior lights. I also have the sun roof and when that happens I can't even open/close the roof or shade. Doesn't matter if the car is on, off, ignition only, the whole lights module is non responsive (not even the service and info buttons work, haven't yet tried if the sos works). It comes back to life the next drive, most of the time. Funny thing, the rear lights always work. I guess it's a separate module, but still. Anyone else had that happen? Just asking here, before I call the dealer. I would think that for something as simple as an interior light, anything lower than 100% reliability is unacceptable.
  3. I'm not 100% sure, but I think all 2.0 engines have wet clutch DSG. Don't know the exact model, but that's what I've gathered from similar topics on this forum.
  4. That's good to hear. I'm currently driving a 2014 Greenline and have been eyeing the RS for a while now. Just done the service at 225k km, got a good deal to trade it for the RS. I guess with cars becoming more and more complicated computer wise, they are bound to have a few bugs and glitches, but the launch of mk4 seemed to be worse than normal. Glad they fixed most of the big problems.
  5. That sounds good, maybe it's not that bad. I mean, the dealer didn't mention any problems (to be fair, he probably wouldn't), and I didn't notice anything in my short test drive, but it would have to be really bad for me to experience anything in those 15 minutes. I was worried about a few ACC problems I read about on here, but seems that some were fixed by the update, and some were just rodents.
  6. I'm currently thinking of buying an almost new Octavia RS 4x4 TDI (registered March 2023). It has all the bells and whistles, lane assist, ACC, DCC, pano roof,... But reading all the posts about the software being very buggy, I'm kind of put off. I did read the thread about the infotainment restarting, and as far as I could tell, the recent 1940 update fixed it? I'm not sure what to think. Do current owners have many issues with the cars (infotainment, safety systems not working, etc.)? I know most people only post on forums when they have a problem, so probably not really indicative of the real situation, but I really don't want to spend that much money for a car that will drive me nuts every minute I spend in it.
