  1. Hi I am taking delivery of a new Superb iV SE Technology hatch in the next few weeks. I really like the look of the chrome strip on the rear. I initially thought that this was part of he facelift for all trims but now realise that it is only on SEL and L&K models. My question is where can I but the strip (I am aware that it is in 3 parts) and will it fit properly on my SE Tech i.e. do SEL and L&K trims have different rear light units with a groove in the for the strip. Many thanks
  2. Hi just a couple of questions on the car’s real world petrol mpg. If I was to use the petrol engine for the motorway where I would stick to say a steady 72/73 mph indicated speed what mpg would I get? I can use the pure EV mode on the non motorway part of the journey. I imagine that using the EV mode to cruise on the motorway will see the electric range plummet. I appreciate any answers. When I get car (should be in the next few weeks) I will of course be happy to report my own findings and answer any questions. Many thanks.
  3. Hi all, I have ordered a Skoda iV which I should receive in the next few weeks. I am going to install a proper wallbox at home (most likely a PodPoint) but was going to charge it once or twice a week at work using a standard 3 pin socket. However one electrician told me that I shouldn't do that as it is not good for the battery long term. Surely Skoda would not provide a cable for 3 pin charging if this was the case. Do any iV users charge from a 3 pin socket on a regular basis and have you had any problems? Thanks
  4. Will answer my own question as looking through the brochure I noticed that the supplied cable for use with a standard 3 pin plug socket is only 10 amp so will assume a 16 amp socket is fne.
  5. Hi All I have just ordered a Superb IV SE Technology which I should be getting in the next few weeks. In preparation I am trying to get an standard 3 pin socket installed on the external wall of my office so I can charge it when I am at work. The electrician asked me if it needs a 16amp or 32 amp supply. The difference being that is 16a he can just spur it off from an existing internal socket on that wall but if it is 32a then he will need to wire it in directly from the fuse box. Does anyone know the answer to this? Many thanks
  6. Mine is an SEL - only options are metallic silver, leather seats, travel assist and spare wheel
  7. Hi all. Have been following this thread with interest. I ordered a petrol DSG estate in mid Feb, don't need it until 1 September to replace existing lease car but dealer said there was as 5 - 6 months lead time so as I was happy with the price and spec etc I placed the order (is a business lease via VWFS). After reading on here about the live chat and as I do have the order number I though I may as well ask if it had been allocated a build date yet and hoping that I was not going to be told that it had been pushed back until Xmas or something. To my surprise they just told me that it has already been built and is at the port awaiting shipment to the UK. So will arrive in mid May three and a half months before I need it. A bit strange in my opinion and I don't like the idea of it being "sat around" for 15 weeks prior to delivery.
  8. Dear all I have just ordered the above in silver with the following options: Leather seats Spare wheel By way of background it will be replacing my Volvo S90 saloon. I lease my car through my business. Got a great deal on my Volvo and will miss it but a replacement would be too expensive. The Octavia will be costing me about the same in monthly payments. I am happy to get a Skoda as my wife currently has a Kodiaq and prior to that had a Superb estate. Both were/have been great cars. I have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer: Can you put a data sim in the car to use the online services i.e. live traffic and software/system/map updates. If not then is the only way to get data access by pairing to your phone? How frequent are software and map updates and can you do them yourself (as opposed to via the dealer) Re live traffic – is this any good compared to Google Maps? Can you send text messages via the native Skoda phone system (I have an iPhone)? If you have an iPhone is it worth just letting the phone connect automatically to wireless CarPlay (I assume you can set it to connect automatically each time you get in the car) Does wireless CarPlay drain your phone’s battery quickly? Can you go to the car, start it and then lock it (to go back in the house and let it heat up/defrost on cold winters day) Many thanks in advance
  9. Hi all I am new here I have a December 2016 Superb estate 2.0 TDI 150 DSG SE Technology The ACC no longer works and an orange warning light is contantly displayed. I took it to the local dealer but they said that only a few dealers in the country have the equipment to look at it so was referred to Simpsons in Preston. They agreed to look at it but said that the repair would not be covered under warranty if the sensor had been damaged by an impact. Once they had looked at it they said they can't see any damage but it needed realligning or resetting and it wasn't covered under the warranty. They wanted about £450 to fix it. The car is on a business lease (contract hire) with Skoda finance and they said if it is not repaired when the car is returned at the end of the lease they will charge me for it. I called Skoda customer services to complain but they werem't very helpful. I made the point that it is an expensive option on many cars and if it hadn't been standard there was no way I would have paid for it. I have hardly used it and am now facing a big bill to repair it. My questions are as follows: Does this system fail regularly or am I just unlucky. If the former then it is not fit for purpose. Can anyone recommend an independent specialist that would fix it for a lower price. Is there any way to disable the warning light/message Many thanks
