Stuttering Superb
I've had the issue for ages, had the camshaft sensor replaced, had the Mass Air Flow Sensor replaced, boost pressure sensor too, and had the car remapped. The problem went away for a short while, but not entirely. It's still there, just less frequent. The mechanic said it could be another camshaft sensor (not sure if anyone can confirm this? Has it fixed it for you?) which is located somewhere in the side near the timing belt, so I'm not sure. But I'll maybe get that done next time it's in for a service. Annoying issue for an otherwise great car.

If you just search for RA Auto, near Silvermines, you'll find him. He is difficult to get a hold of if you ring him, but if you text him, he will get back to you. His name is Richard, and he's good at what he does. Try raauto.ie.

Hi, yes I also changed camshaft sensor, but that didn't resolve it. The problem seemed to disappear, but was back within a short while. I eventually got tired of it and took it to a BMW specialist outside Nenagh, and left the car with him for a week. He couldn't find any issues, the problem didn't appear when he had it (typical), so I asked him to just do a remap anyway as I suspect it's a sensor or ECU issue. Have the remap done now and no issues in the last 2000kms so far.

Great, from what I've seen these can be a pain in the rear to resolve. Glad you got yours sorted! I might replace that again with an OEM part this time and see if that does the trick. Thanks for the quick response. Apart from that, it's been a brilliant car.

Hi there, just checking to see how your car is performing after the camshaft sensor replacement... I've got a 2017 2.0TDI 110kw/150bhp which gave the same kind of behaviour for the last 2 to 3 years, since about 60k miles on the clock. I did have an after market Race Chip installed, but removed that - it was not a remap, just something that plugs into 3 sensors (camshaft sensor, boost pressure sensor, common rail sensor) and resends modified outputs to the ECU (my simple understanding). Anyway, that was removed straight away, and never reinsalled since. The car was always and only ever serviced by a Skoda Main Dealer in Co. Clare, and they couldn't find the issue. Eventually they suggested it might be camshaft sensor was loose, so they tightened it, but the problem was there. Since then, and after loads of investigations and forums, the problem is still there. I've replaced the camshaft sensor (advice from Skoda), replaced the boost pressure sensor (advice from a local mechanic), and replaced the Mass Air Flow sensor (advice from another local mechanic and online forums), however, the problem has still not gone away. Seems to trigger when you have a heavy foot, or when the car is driven hard, parked, and then the next time you drive it, it triggers this. Switching off, locking the car, leave it sit for 2 mins, always clears the issue. Took it again to a different Skoda garage, in South Dublin this time, and they've refused to take a look at it because of the Race Chip that was previously installed. Has the camshaft sensor replacement fully resolved your issue?

Convenience windows no longer working
Yes, just tried it there, and perfect. One touch up and down is back working as expected. Thanks Client76 and Briskoda! I can guarantee if I took it to my Skoda dealer in Ennis, Co. Clare, they would not have been able to fix it.

Convenience windows no longer working
Thanks. I'm having a similar problem at the moment. The car has just been serviced and repaired by a local non-Skoda garage, who replaced flywheel, clutch, carrier for front left door outer handle, and then returned the car to me. It seems they forgot to reconnect the cable for the keyless entry on that front left door handle, and now I've noticed the one touch Up/Down isn't working on the driver's door..it works on all the others ok. I'll test it this evening with the reset sequence described by Client76, and let you know if that has resolved it. The car is a 2017 Superb SportLine by the way.

Engine shake and rattle
Apologies, I never got around to uploading a video. Everytime I made a video with my phone, it was too big to upload. I have taken it to a local mechanic, described the symptoms, and then managed to reproduce the sound for him. It turns out, the noise is only there when I depress the clutch and the engine is warm. I've always hated STOP/START technology, because in my mind it puts the STARTER/BATTERY under extra load/wear in traffic. So, by habit, whenever I pull up at the lights, I always leave the car in first gear and depress the clutch. By the mechanic's reckoning, it sounds like the Dual Mass Flywheel. I've got to book it in sometime soon to get that done, although he has assured me that there's no rush - it's just a little noisy.

Engine shake and rattle
Thanks J.R. -> Let me take a look and see if I can isolate where the noise is coming from - both sound like possibly costly issues, but I do enjoy the car and it's well worth resolving and keeping it in top shape. Have it booked into a non-Skoda garage next week, so hopefully they can pinpoint the issue. I'll post back here once I know more - might be helpful for other readers too.

Engine shake and rattle
Hi all, appreciate that this thread was started in 2021, and there hasn't been any response to this or further follow up from the original poster. I drive a 2017 Skoda Superb SportLine Estate, 2.0TDi with 150bhp manual engine. Full service history with Al Hayes Skoda in Ennis, Co. Clare (who I'm not going to use anymore due to work quality). The car is on 143,000kms, and has similar noises from the engine. Also audible from inside the car, when you're taking off etc. Sounds to me like an alternator pulley, or loose exhaust, etc. Kind of rattles as you pull away, but sometimes also during idle. Car has just had a new timing belt and water pump fitted by the Skoda garage, but the noise still persists. Just wondering if anyone might have experienced this before and is this a common issue.
