  1. What I can remember, it was either off or full blast. The part I needed I got off Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01MDLZN9H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It was quite a fiddley job, disconnect battery, take out glove box, remove airbag, replace part (need small hands!) Put back together and you might need to clear Air bag warning lights from dash using VAG COM software and laptop cable. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OBD2-Diagnostic-Scanner-Cable-Tool-For-VW-Audi-Seat-Car-VAG-COM-KKL-409-1-NEW-/383889304706?hash=item596195ec82 I watch this YouTube video online, which was a great help. Good luck, I hope this all helps.
  2. Here is my update on the situation. Eventually worked out how to manually open the boot. Loosened off the electrical loom to discovered a couple of broken wires, I also moved the trim on the tailgate and on c pillar to work out what wires went where. Created a bridge with wire and connector blocks for each broken wire to see if I could get any response. The main brown wire that was snapped was working again, so rear wiper, heated windscreen, brake light, reg plate lights are all working again. The other bridged broken wire (with the brown one) goes to the tailgate does not work, try a few things but it will not pop open off the fob. If I need to open the boot i have to go in through the rear passenger doors. I have got the car road legal again - (reg plate lights are a MOT fail) then noticed my rear wiper wasn't working properly as well, so I am in the process of replacing the wiper arm, just waiting for parts. So with a heavy heart, I have made the decision to get rid of my Roomster in the spring. Over the last couple of years I have replace electric window switches, rear bumper sensors, repaired and refilled air con gas, replace heating resistor, repaired the front windscreen wiper linkage and it needs four new tyres and a new battery and possibly a rear wiring loom.
  3. Hi Robjon and SurreyJohn for replying to my post. I am going to investigate tomorrow once I have got the lock open from the inside... There is a breakers yard not too far away from me with a Roomster, I may pay a visit if it is fairly easy to swap out a wiring loom unit. I will let you know how I get on.
  4. Hi All Just wondering if any one has had this problem? All of a sudden, my rear wiper, my boot release, rear registration plate lights (and possibly my rear heated window) have all stop working at the same time? I am wondering if this is down to the constant rain we had for the last two weeks. I am hoping it will dry out and fix itself, but I am wondering if it is something more serious? I don't think it is fuses (what's the chance of 3 going at the same time?) but it feels like it is electrical. Any advice where to start looking first would be great. My rear interior lights and the rear window washer is working fine - I am just trying to pinpoint the issue. Any help would be gladly received. Paul
  5. Thanks for getting back to me. I only got my roomy a couple of years ago and didn’t have a handbook. But I will continue to look into it and let you know how I get on.
  6. The central locking is working fine - both the the doors and boot lock and unlock. I'm just wondering could it be a blown/missing fuse?
  7. Hi NZ100 yes I have, it flashes when I unlock and lock the door using the fob. thanks Drumbo
  8. I have got a Roomster SE TDI on a 10 plate and I am just wondering when I press the door open or close button on my key fob should my hazard/central locking lights flash? On my car its doesn't but I noticed it on an 11 plate yesterday that this did happen. I don't know if this worth investigating or its just a feature not on my model or age of car. Any advice would be gladly received.
  9. I am aiming to replace a rear parking sensor this weekend (if it stops raining) - thanks for the information and photos it doesn't look too hard of a job. I will let you know how I get on. Just a quick update - the bumper came off easy enough, didn't take the wheels off so a couple of the torx screws were a bit fiddly regarding access. The parking sensor was a straight swap after a VCDS diagnostic check, then I tested the sensors to make sure they were working before replacing the bumper. After a removal of mud and a quick clean up, the bumper clipped straight back on. A job that look quite daunting, ended up being a simple job - Thanks again.

  11. Just a quick update - the smell from the resistor has now gone. I have also cleared the airbag warning light from the dash using vcd lite and a vag-com cable from eBay - £4.59, free delivery, got it in two days. Well impressed! Thanks again for the advice.
  12. Thanks, I have Just checked it and it looked fine. I will keep an eye on it. cheers Drumbo
  13. Thanks for the advice - I will keep an eye/nose on it over the next couple of days as I will doing some longer journeys. Many thanks again for your quick replies Tech1e.
  14. I will see what I can get on online and let you know how I get on. Bit of a daft question - I have replaced the fan resistor and from time to time there is a little bit of a smell coming from the fans when blowing - is this because it is a new part and it is wearing itself in. Sorry I know it sounds really daft...
  15. Hi Tech1e Thanks for getting back so quickly to me - much appreciated. Yeah it was definitely disconnected when I tested the fan resistor. Would a VAG-COM cable and software clear such a code? Cheers Drumbo
