Hello again, well so far after copious amounts of welsh weather this weekend the car is still dry,both sides now . I peeled this seal back amd filled the void with silicon sealant careful to be fairly quick to reset the seal and clean up any excess sealant before it got tacky. In my case I believe this was the main cause of the leak although I did use the Tolley treatment as well as said before. It’s a quick trick a d the only dismantling needed is the 5 torx screws ( in red ) removed which hold the fly screen in place at the front , hinge the fly screen back and then that gives access to the seal .as you can see in the second pic the seal is actually deteriorating and may have been responsible for some ingress itself,however,had the pan set up been designed correctly that ingress should have been transported to the drain point irrespective of where or how the point of ingress was. Hopefully this will help those with the roof with the same leak as mine. Good luck.

Well, that’s what was in my footwell,lol. I’ve stopped the ingress!!! Don’t laugh ,I’m serious. I’ve stopped it on the driver side but now for the first time it’s leaking in the near side , how I stopped the leak on my particular pan roof is to fill the void between the roof and the first layer of the framework just behind the main seal. The seal is supposed to kick out the water Into the channel and down the Shute. Mine wasn’t doing this but the water which was supposed to be kicked out was finding it’s way behind the seal which leads to the cabin. Filling it full of black silicone has totally stopped the leak, I’m not saying that the captain tolleys trick hasn’t worked as I’m sure it has - it’s just that in my car it was a combination of leaks and I’m eventually managing to seal them all. To be honest I have looked at other vehs to px against, mainly the vw Tiguan as I’m not going to have another sun roof no matter what form it arrives in. One dealer was actually quite put out when I told him I wasn’t Interested in his Tiguan with a “fabulous “ pan roof,lol. There seems to be a variety of leaks in these models with the pan roof and I hope I’ve managed to cure mine. I will post some pics when I get chance to show the exact spot or spots.

Nice post logiclee at last someone in the Skoda world has found that yes the roof does leak from the factory ,however,the Skoda world should put there hands up and then down,right into their pockets and pay for a recall on every single pan roof model. My model being 8 years old now isn’t worth spending 1400 hard earned sheckles on it for a leak. The full lube service and belt cost me almost a grand in a specialist but at least I got what I paid for. I’m thinking wait for the summer and px it for something without a sunroof. Hi, After my jubilation at the weekend thinking I had cured the leak I find that last night its running in now worse than ever. The tubes have been replaced since new and are a tight fit, the leak is coming in as everyone else has experienced. I shall try the 303 thanks .

Time for the update , yeeha, at the moment no water ingress. Time will tell if I have been meticulous enough but when the weather warms up a bit and we’ve had a dry spell I shall apply more Tolley and fingers crossed that will be the end of that. Incidentally I contacted the previous owner ( I bought the car in a used car dealer ) and he told me that Skoda had changed the drain pipes during his time due to the leak. Skoda deny all knowledge of this saying it’s not on the system as being in for this work which points to them not wanting to admit liability. I have stuck to the family brand with Skoda after Audi VW and Seat and have found that the build quality is not the same as the rest of the family and the after sales service is certainly not up to standard. This will be my last Skoda.

Well thanks for sharing this issue with us, I too have the same problem to the extent it fried my Bluetooth unit under the drivers seat ( before I bought the car) I replaced the unit and repaired the corroded wiring and that part is all good. At the time I assumed the previous owner had left the window open or had driven through a flood. Last week I read another thread suggesting the internal seal around the roof where it’s supposed to kick off the water, part of my seal was in fact sitting incorrectly which suggested water ingress, I placed the seal where it should sit happy in the fact that I had found the root, alas no, water was coming in worse now than before. Then I found your thread, ordered Captain Tolleys sealant and have just applied the first application, when applying it it just disappeared into the layer between the two, my aluminium is black so it was at first not clear where the leak would be. I’m just waiting for the timer for my first half hour to apply another Tolley. Fingers crossed. As for drying the carpets I have a Karcher WD2 wet and dry vacuum which sucks almost all the moisture out albeit I did lift the carpet from the cill to access the sound proofing layer underneath . Worth mentioning that the only evidence I had was a wet carpet although the framework around the fuse board which is bare metal from the factory has a smearing of rust on it ( 2013 L&K) . Originally I wrote to Skoda complaining but they just pushed me off saying they had no problems with that model even though most owners I’ve spoken to with the panoramic roof have had problems. The engine light could be the cat on its way out , one way to avoid costly repair is to put an extension on where the lambda sensor fits, this fools the sensor as it’s not giving the right reading to the ecu. Had the same issue on a seat arosa, asked my local vw specialist who is passionate about his work and he said yours sounds the same . Extension pipe is available on eBay , check whether or not you need a straight one or an angled one ( due to restricted space when re fitting the lambda sensor.). I hope you have already called the current fault into the stealer who did the chain. good luck

Good news, perseverance pays off with the stealers, mine was sorted at no cost to me, going into a Skoda approved body shop on fri for paint warranty on the rear doors . We’ll see.

Hi, welcome from another new member. I too have the same issue with my 2013 yeti L&K , luckily it’s got a 5 yr warranty which runs out next month and is booked in on fri for repair. Unfortunately the pan roof leak (which is why the previous owner sold it ) has fried the Bluetooth unit. They tell me that’s not under warranty as the pan roof only has a 3 month warranty from new !!! mission seek module is on !! Good luck with the heater .

My 13 plate yeti L&K has a fried Bluetooth module due to water ingress from pan roof. My part number is 7p6035730k, is this interchangeable with others such as 7p6035730c/d/e etc and if so what is the difference, does anyone know . I’m assuming it will need a recoding for the new install. Any tech buffs out there know if this is possible . Thanks

Hi, obviously my recent purchase of a yeti has had a leaking roof in its past years , so much so it’s fried the Bluetooth unit. I have located several used units all with the same part number albeit the last letter is different on some. Is it possible to install a u it with say. Letter C on the end of my unit has the letter K on it. I’m assuming it will have to be set up on the pc to work. Any help ? mine is 7P6 035 730 K.
