  1. They got cash off me once mate, would never even advise my worst enemy to buy a car from them , their loss, I even go elsewhere for services .
  2. I have a 2015 Octavia scout nice looking car but mechanically absolutely rubbish , car has 114,000 miles on clock and now when I accelerate or brake there is a terrible vibration, anyone got any ideas as to my problem, tyres have been checked and are sound ?
  3. Car was in at Henry Bros Glasgow for a service , this is where I purchased it from, and was told my stop start battery needs replaced, told them fine do it , it’s under warranty, then they backtracked saying it’s fine, got it checked at QuickFit and they confirmed battery knackered and needs replaced, I had to go all the way up to the service director who came out to car with meter and confirmed battery knackered, so got the thing replaced eventually, once this dealer takes your cash, your a nobody, they couldn’t spell “ Customer Care “
  4. Thanks mate wish I had checked any reviews before buying this thing
  5. Agree 100% before buying the car they will do anything for you after you buy the thing they don’t want to know you,
  6. I noticed the Octavia was a popular Private hire vehicle but due to our weather here in Scotland I wanted a 4x4 and the salesman at Henry’s Skoda in Glasgow told me the manager was using a demonstrator they had its got approx 4000 miles on the clock and was a really nice car I paid approx £23,000 for this car and first 6 months were fine, there’s approx 112,000 miles on the clock now, and body wise it looks as though it’s just come out of the Showroom because I like to look after my Cars, but mechanically it’s a nightmare, I don’t think I have had more than 6 week driving without needing to go back to Henry’s Glasgow and they are not interested, as I explained to the previous Service Manager, anyone can sell a Car but it takes a good Dealer to make the Customer come back and they haven’t done this, at every problem encountered I have had to escalate the problems to Skoda Uk ,and then I would get a call from Henry’s,Glasgow asking me to amend the scoring on the customer survey from Skoda uk because it reflects baby on them,
  7. Has anyone else experienced a multitude of mechanical failures with a Skoda Octavia Scout, my car a 2015 was bought from Henry’s of Glasgow and to be honest I regret the day I ever heard of Skoda or Volkswagen for that matter, the latest problem seems To be 1) A Diesel injector that the seal has broken on and is making the car run like a wheelbarrow with a flat tyre and 2) The pressure switch has gone and you can imagine the problems that both those issues bring, especially since this car was sold to me as a private hire taxi, and to be honest, I don’t think there has been a period of more than six weeks without this car being taken back to the Dealer, Henry’s of Glasgow and after my experience with Volkswagen/ Skoda my next car will definitely be a Ford can any of you technical minded Skoda Owners give me your opinion, have I just bought a unlucky car or are there serious issues with the build quality of this model.
  8. Hi Roottootemoot thanks for your feedback in answer to your question the answer is Henry’s (Skoda ) of Glasgow Serviced my car at every service interval that was require i.e Oil Servicing and all other main Services as and when they were required and Henry’s would send over a video report with each service and never mentioned that I needed any belts etc changed so I assume everything was ok in that dept and considering that I purchased the car from them and this was my source of income I had them do all maintenance on my car but to be honest, on that car I have had the Stop /Start Battery replaced under warranty, the Heater Unit has been replaced, Wheel bearing going and now a replacement Alternator. When I see Octavia Taxi’s on 14 plates and onwards driving about Glasgow I wonder has my car been a rotten apple or have the owners of these cars had the same problems that I’ve experienced, also there seems to be a constant problem with the Volkswagen Stop/Start system am I right.
  9. Bought this car from a main Skoda dealer in Glasgow had the car maintained and serviced by them , the car was bought as a Private Hire Taxi and after 4 years and 100,000 miles the alternator has packed in. This happened when I was on the road driving and luckily happened at approx 30/40’mph but still struggled to get the car under control as power steering packed in and brakes went soft I’m reasonably fit so coped but if this were someone elderly or infirm this could have been catastrophic as it was I tried to turn but was heading for a lamppost anyway still here got on to skoda and was told usual ,age of car it’s only 4 years old and high mileage,100,000 miles, the car was bought as a taxi was told the real air cost would be almost £600. Surely Thea components on a car should last longer considering there are 15/20 year old cars on the road Also when I called Skoda /Volkswagen customers service was told by one guy that when you buy a car then after 3 years there is no comeback on any part of the car I argued the point with him and tried to explain a part of consumer law called Fair Usage which means the 3 years warranty is not set in stone, I eventually gave up and called someone else at customer service so we will see what happens now watch this space
  10. Had the same problem with a 65 plate Octavia Scout temperature shot up and warning light came on stopped checked coolant and was empty so must have been some size of air lock in system went back to dealers. And it seemed to have remedied itself. I have a picture or the coolant tank and the tank is absolutely empty topped up and seemed to sort itself but strange.
  11. Thanks ken I will give this a try
  12. Hi folks can anyone help me with a problem that I’m having with my November 2015 skoda Octavia Scout previously I asked the question about wheel bearing problems, while my car was still under warranty I had a whining noise coming from the rear wheel section and took my car to the dealers I bought it from, this whining noise increases with the speed of my car the dealer apparently checked the car and told me there is no problem but almost a year on this noise is still here some people have told me it sounds like a bearing, some people say the noise is coming from the differential because the car is 4 wheel drive and I’ve been told it could be a problem with the axle I just don’t know so if anyone out there has had the same issue or any suggestions I’m open to all possibilities. thanks
  13. Hi all would appreciate some advice on lifespan of wheel bearings on my Skoda Octavia Scout, year of manufacturing (November 2015 ) car is used as a taxi so mileage is at 78,000 but seems one of the rear wheel bearings have gone and I would like to know, has this bearing gone too soon or is this just down to wear and tear. Also coming up to 80,000 mile service so what does this entail and should I be replacing any parts because of the mileage covered as a Taxi . Any advice would be gratefully.
  14. Hi all I’m wondering is there a workshop manual available for my 2015 Octavia Scout
  15. Hi all just to say, after explaining my problem to Skoda direct and stating that the car was less than three years old Skoda agreed with me on the Heater Malfunction and agreed to cover cost of same, so thanks to all who helped with advice
  16. Going down that road at the moment have contacted Skoda and they have arrange examination at dealer. Keep you all posted
  17. Thanks surely these electronic devices should have a decent lifespan and should be well protected from water call me a cynic but these things seem to happen as the warranty expires thanks again for your reply
