  1. Funny you mention the glovebox. My handbrake was making a similar noise shortly after pulling away, as if something was sticking and then 'resetting'. It turned out to be nothing to do with the handbrake. I had previously installed a Sonosmart reverse camera. There is a hvac flap behind the infotainment system above the glovebox. The flap was getting stuck on the canera wiring harness. The noise was traveling and sounded like it was coming from the handbrake. I rearranged the wiring and problem solved.
  2. Travall is probably the best one. Not cheap, I got a used one off eBay. https://www.travall.co.uk/skoda/octavia-estate-2013-/travall-dog-guard-tdg1404
  3. Is these a way to turn off these two tiny lights? I'm finding them distracting at night, but there's no switch and I can't find anything in the settings. Any help would be much appreciated 🙂
  4. Apologies, I posted in the wrong forum 😖

  6. Thanks for the response! I don't know as it hasn't been cold lately. I have however managed to answer my own question since posting. With the help of YouTube I have done a continuity test on all 4 glow plugs, cylinder 1 glow plug is definitely faulty, the others are fine.
  7. I used a obd2 scanner after my engine light came on (solid amber). It came up with the code P0671 Cylinder 1 glow plug circuit. I cleared the entry but it came back almost straight away. I went to my usual VAG garage who said it's likely to be the glow plug which would cost £105 to replace, but to be sure I would have to pay £70 to have it diagnosed. I don't want to pay £70 just to find out it needs a new glow plug, however I don't want to pay £105 to replace the glow plug only to find that wasn't the issue and have to pay another £70 just to find out what the problem is. How likely is it to be the glow plug? Many thanks
  8. That's very helpful, thank you!
  9. I am about to change my diesel fuel filter. The 5 x T25 screws should be tightened to 5nm. How critical is it that a torque wrench is used? If I made a mental note of how tight they feel when removing them, and then try to get them the same when reassembling, wouldn't that likely be good enough?
