  1. Thanks for the replys guys I'm going to do a brim to brim mpg exercise as you both suggest ! I'm going to use tesco 99 e5 . And work out the mpg myself . Last time I filled the car I'm sure I only just got 400 miles to a tank . Its done 28 thousand miles new air filter in last week the plugs are original I think I pulled one today to see what they look like a light grey / tan colour. Im going to put a new set in because of thier age. And go from there I will check my oil temp in the morning after my commute . I've had diesels for a long time I thought it just might be me being used to diesel economy buy this rapid just doesn't seem good enough to me mpg wise everything else about the car is spot on !
  2. Hello Guys I've owned my 2017 1.2 tsi 110 manual spaceback for a round 6 months and I've done 3000 miles in that time. I don't think the mpg or consumption is as good as it should be. I only use e5 fuel. I do mostly street driving with a bit of occasional motorway. The display says I'm averaging 42mpg overall not too bad I dont think ? But my fuel gauge goes down like I'm driving a V8 ( which I've owned before so I know) you can see it going down even after my 8 mile commute to work ! Please see attached image my gauge was just on the full mark now its here after 17 miles. Seems suspect to me just wondered your guys thoughts cheers!
  3. Just a quick thanks to Pete fitted my repaired motor this morning. In the post monday back with me friday ! Works perfectly 👌
  4. Hello guys Im after a bit of help with my girlfriends mk 2 fabia ! Went out in the car today and noticed the air conditioning and recirculation buttons wont turn on. They light up with the rest of the unit but wont turn on and change to yellow like normal. The blower fan works as it should but I have noticed the temp nob does not change the temp up or down. Just warm air from the vents. Plenty of gas in the ac system, fuses checked all seem good fuse 22 7.5amp for this climatic unit so I believe. Any advice appreciated cheers Ant
  5. I've had the car up in the air today no sign of any leaks had the airbox out too the filter is clean and dry my guess at this moment is it's random patches of diesel that are slowly burning off other than that I havnt a clue
  6. I checked the pollen filter it's dry but does have a hint of diesel smell about it all the return lines are dry and drip free I'm going to get the car up on the ramp tomorrow afternoon to have a good look from the underside
  7. Hello guys I've had my skoda fabia monte carlo 1.6 tdi just over 3 months it's been trouble free up until a couple of weeks back. I had a injector return line pop off a couple of times covering the engine in diesel I had the pipes and clips swapped cleaned up all the diesel problem solved. Until one day last week I was sat in traffic and I started to smell diesel again it's strongest next to the air box it smells like hot diesel I can't see anything wet at all and it's got me puzzled. All the diesel was cleaned off after the first leak and the car was normal for 300 miles or so any help would be grateful Ant
  8. Thanks for the welcomes guys glad to be back
  9. Hello guys just a quick hello I'm back on the skoda scene after a gap of about 10 years or so I've had my skoda fabia monte carlo 1.6 tdi around 3 months trouble free up until a couple of weeks ago I will be seeking advice once I can post in the relevant forums Cheers Ant
  10. Thats the right filter i thought the same when i bought and changed mine you will see when you get the cover off. I used a long torx screwdriver and a qtr drive rachet with a torx bit to get the screws out
