Where did you find the (interesting, and surprising) weight info above? Is there a specific Audi part number for the lighter wheels? Is the payoff that they will be weaker for potholes etc? Thanks. Iz

Cheers for the quick response. I've briefly tried some A6 wheels at 16" to improve the ride quality. It did seem better, so I'll go searching for some pukka Yeti ones based on your information. Some new springs and dampers are also planned....

Are there any 16 Inch wheel options for a 2013 Yeti that DON'T fit over the larger 170 brakes? The answer is probably buried somewhere in an existing post, but repeated searching has failed to turn it up. Awaiting bestowal of collective wisdom....

How did you get on with the Yeti clutch after the remap? Any issues? I have a 2013 170 with 51k on the clock, well looked after by the previous owner. Do you think I'll have any clutch problems with a Racingline/Shark flash? Mine's boring grey though, sorry. T

As a previous owner of an Octy Scout, I have become aware that Skoda's recommended geometry settings aren't necessarilry the best for tyre wear/handling, and alternatives were suggested. Is there a similar situation with the Yeti ( of which I am now an owner)? I have some odd tyre wear characteristics, with feathering (Is that the correct term? One edge has a 'lip') on the outer blocks front and rear. Is this to be expected with the standard settings, or is there something amiss? A (non-dealer) geometry check is planned and I would like to know what settings to ask for. Wisdom bestowal awaited... T

Ok, thanks for the update.

Hi Benh. Did you ever get to the bottom of this noise? I seem to have the same thing going on. T

Adjustable brake settings deep down in VCDS?
tintinandcharlie replied to tintinandcharlie's topic in Skoda Yeti
So if it's brake assist settings, is that: not very much/medium/lots of assistance during a panic brake, or not very much/medium/lots of pressure required before the assist assists, so to speak (or type)? I don't suppose you have a link to that thread please? As I said, it usually only happens on the first one or two braking occasions during the first drive of the day, so maybe the pads are withdrawing overnight? Not something I've heard of before. A caliper piston filp seal pointing the wrong way? Other than that, while they seem a bit sharp there's no lack of braking effect. ...neither of which are present, but thanks for the suggestion. Minimal disc runout, and no noisy bearings or wheel play. T -
Having recently become the proud owner of a Yeti, I initially thought I was just taking a long time to acclimatise to the response of the brake pedal, with some clumsy applications leading to abrupt braking. I drive a lot of different cars and have never needed more than a couple of brake applications to become smooth and progressive with retardation. However, even with heightened awareness and sensitive footwork I am still occasionally caught out with the Yeti. It's almost like the pads are backing off the discs and the first half-inch of pedal travel is bringing them back onto the disc (I've had this from rattling over apex kerbs in a race car), but then grabbing abruptly. I've noticed it more early on during the first drive of the day, but rattling bumps don't seem to be a factor. Having been a keen driver for nearly forty years, a quality engineer for BMW braking systems, a driving and race instructor, and an adequate amatuer racer in my youth, I am somewhat reluctant to ascribe this solely to advancing years. I refuse to be a duffer yet! In my wanderings through this informative forum, I'm sure that I have stumbled across some mention of settings deep in VCDS where braking assistance/response can be adjusted, but I can't relocate it even with searches. Am I imagining this? I'm fairly sure that the previous owner was a keen driver and may have had a play if such things are possible. Otherwise, does the collective wisdom have any suggestions as to what technical solutions I should explore? I've had a local indy check it out but no issues are reported, and it's not my choice of footwear as I've experienced it with everything from wellies to old race boots to check. I look forward to your suggestions. T

Tracing Vehicle/Owner History of OE13 HNW
tintinandcharlie replied to tintinandcharlie's topic in Skoda Yeti
Ok, thanks for the pointer. In that case, is anyone happy to put their hand up for OE13 HNW please? I look forward to hearing from you, I think. I hope it's good news (I'm crossing everything, and what isn't crossed is tied in a knot...) T -
I've just bought a 2013 Yeti 170 Elegance from a dealer up north, and wondered if anyone on here is its previous owner. I'd like to try and build up a picture of its history but due to GDPR all documentation from its past has been binned by the dealer other than the service booklet. Entries in this are encouraging as to work done and who by (reputable companies so far), but don't give the whole picture. What's the protocol on here for this type of inquiry? Can I post the registration and hope that someone voluntarily comes forward? T

Woo hoo! Thanks for the speed response. T
