  1. Yeah, had the fuel pump and control module replaced. Cost around £900 in total and the car has been right ever since. From what I recall, it was the control module which had failed but as the car had done over 100k miles and the tank had already been dropped, it made sense to have a new fuel pump fitted at the same time.
  2. Hi all, Recently bought a 2017 Yeti SE L Outdoor which has the Xenon Headlights. I've noticed that the car also has Halogen Bulbs which come on for Main Beam but the Xenon Light also seems to adjust when Main Beam is on. Does the Yeti have Xenon or Bi-Xenon lights? I'm not really fussed either way because they are by far the best headlights I've ever had on a car (and even seem to give the 2017 Audi S3 we have as a company car a good run for their money). They're definitely brighter than the Bi-Xenon headlights on my MK3 Focus RS.
  3. Thought I'd post a quick photo - one week in and I love this thing!
  4. One other thing... The 1.2 TSI is astonishing. I have a Focus RS MK3 as a weekend toy, running around 400bhp so was slightly skeptical thinking the Yeti may feel a bit anemic. Obviously there's a big gulf in power and performance, but the 1.2 doesn't feel underpowered. I actually think it feels pretty nippy. My late father had a 2016 Fabia with the 1.2 TSI and to be fair that thing could move. I suspect it's partly down to the gearbox though.
  5. Thanks for all your comments. Picked up the Yeti today. Drove the Octy to pick it up and the Mrs followed me back in the Octy. Must say I'm in love with the car already. Getting around 38ish MPG and apparently around 400 miles of range from a tank so if it does anywhere near that I'll be more than happy. Can definitely see why these cars are loved. Oh, and the Xenon headlights are insane! We have a company Audi S3 (67 plate) with LED headlights and I think I can safely say the Yeti lights are on par with these. It's like daylight when main beam is on!
  6. Thanks for this. Is there anything specific to keep an eye out for on the DSG? This is going to be the first auto car I've owned so I'm a bit of a newbie to the world of autos. I know the gearbox in the 1.2 isn't renowned for reliability, so I'm going to see if I can get an extended warranty which will cover me if the worst happens!
  7. Hi all, I'm about to pull the trigger on buying a Yeti 1.2 TSI DSG but just wanted to ask if there's anything I should be aware of reliability wise? From what I've read online, the old 1.2 TSI engines could be problematic but the newer generation are fairly robust? Car has done around 57k miles. Had cambelt done last year. Also, what sort of economy could I expect to see from the car? I do around 400 miles a week (300 motorway, 100 commuting/town driving). The Yeti will be replacing my 1.6 Diesel Octavia Greenline III (which will be going to the Mrs.) - to be fair we could probably keep using the Octavia for the 300 mile a week journeys. Many thanks.
  8. I took the old cabin filter out and suddenly it started working. Gave the filter a good whack against a wall and a dust out and it works a lot better. Seeing as it seemed to be the filter (at this time anyway) I've bought a replacement filter and installed it today. Nice cold air coming from the vents again now 😁
  9. Have done this, made no different unfortunately 😞
  10. My MK3 Octavia is not blowing much air through the air vents (even with fans on full blast). I've pressed and the AC and front blower button simultaneously and I can hear the air moving between the different vents. Where should I start looking? It almost seems like there's something blocking the air flow. Cheers
  11. Had it diagnosed, control module has failed. Both pump and module are being swapped out so now it's just a waiting game.
  12. Hi all, My Octy decided to die this evening whilst I was driving (rather inconveniently as I was leaving a dual carriageway). Had the car recovered and found that two codes (P025D - Fuel Pump Module Control Circuit High and P0087 - Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too Low) were present. Symptoms were the car wouldn't restart when it died (or would, but would then die within a few seconds), glow plug light was flashing and the car shook vigorously when trying to start. Interestingly, when the car was left for about an hour, it did start but the EML was illuminated. After a while of leaving the car again and trying to start it, the EML disappeared and since then the car starts and seems to run as normal (although I darent drive it - only drove it off the recovery truck onto my driveway) What would cause this issue? I'm going to try and get the car to a mechanic on Monday but just wanted some information prior to this. Car is a MK3 Octy, 1.6 TDI (2016) with around 110k miles on the clock. Cheers.
  13. Hi all, I've got a MK3 Octavia ('65 plate) Greenline (1.6 diesel) which I'm toying with the idea of having mapped. Ideally I'd be looking to go to about 140ish if possible. My other car is a 375bhp Ford Focus so wouldn't mind a bit more power out of the daily! Any suggestions for a tuning box welcome!
  14. Honestly have no idea. I think this was a company car before I bought it so I think that they are mainly motorway miles. I hope you're right though 😁
  15. Regen completed and the DPF and Egg Timer have disappeared. I think we're good. Thanks for the help guys.
  16. I'll add I've been doing the same journey for the last year or so without any issues. I also do take the car on 50-75 mile round trips a couple of weekends a month.
  17. Reading the manual online for the app seems to suggest the 47% bar means how full the DPF is. My journey to work is about 10 miles each way. Mornings tend to be heavy traffic but I'm usually able to drive with a slightly heavier right foot on the way home... The day the DPF light came on I took it down an A Road at 70mph in 4th gear (keeping revs at over 3k rpm) and then checked the app again... It didn't force a regen. Light hasn't come back on the dash since, I'm just curious what the egg timer and DPF in red means. Nothing in the app's manual.
  18. Hi, As the title suggests, looking to find out what the red DPF and Egg Timer mean? Had a DPF light come on the other week on my way to work (although it was off again by the time I got to the office) so I bought the VAG DPF app. Warning light on the dash hasn't reappeared since but on the app I'm getting a red DPF icon and egg timer. Any ideas? Car is a 1.6 diesel Octy Greenline III Cheers
  19. I guess alternatively is it possible to replace the Amundsen system with something aftermarket which features CD?
  20. As the title suggests, looking to see if it's possible to fit a CD Player to a 2015 Octavia? My 2017 Focus has one so it's always been a slight disappointment that the Octy doesn't. Would something like this work? I know I can use the SD Card Slot, but if I buy a new CD I like to be able to listen to it in the car whilst I get myself sorted and rip it to USB/Phone/other medium.
  21. Nope, disabling Dynamic Route made no difference. Anyone else have any other suggestions?
  22. Thanks all. I've found an online manual that said to disable dynamic route in Sat Nav options. I've disabled this and will see how it goes (and will try to remember to feed back!)
  23. Hi, I have a Skoda Octavia MK3 with the Amundsen head unit. Even though I have disabled TP, I still get a rather irritating "queueing traffic" voice alert from time to time. Is there a way this can be turned off? Have been through the settings but drawing a blank. Many thanks.
  24. Hi all, I'm at a bit of a loss as to how one now finds their car's service history. Before the old MySkoda app was discontinued, I believe you could check it on there. The new MySkoda app doesn't seem to give me this facility (or any other facilities seeing as my Octavia doesn't have Smartlink)... Is there a way I can view the service history of my car? I did email Skoda who didn't reply at all. Many thanks.
  25. Just read through this - really making me miss my little Citigo :( Hope you get yours back on the road soon! Guess 2020 hasn't been the year for it... Looks like a great little car! Love what you've done/did with it. A black roof with a black high level brake light might look good
