I have same problem-.2 litre diesel 2010 Yeti-egr popped and smoked engine bay and cabin. I got the EGR replaced with one from Autodoc (my pal is VW tech but what a mission) but the eml light came on after a few miles. I had it reset and recalibrated but still comes on after a while. VW mastertech said it due to patent part but suggested just getting it mapped out as car is fine. Car runs fine and i can reset the light myself by disconecting the battery for 10 mins. This will be my last diesel, if they push out ULEV I'm buggered anyway.

Had this with my Yeti-wash jet worked so I knew power was getting there-I just gave the wiper a helping nudge and off it went-It's been working for weeks. Might be worth doing this before getting the tools out.

Long going thread. But I concur. I bought the sensor and hub from Autodoc having sourced part numbers from a friend at VW. The hub had corroded and knocked out the sensor leading to ABS/ESP lights. I changed the sensor and light went but DSG wouldn't shift properly no 5th etc. So fitted the hub. All good. Parts under £50! Love my L&K Octavia again.
