  1. The car is running fine now but the EML won’t stay off for more than 100 miles. I’ve heard some people say that this can be bypassed but you need a garage with ODIS to do this. Is this true? And is this something you’d advise against? I’m just trying to get it through it’s taxi plate and they won’t pass it when the EML is coming on, I cleared it off before the test but it came on during and got a fail.
  2. I have it booked into a garage with ODIS on Monday. I hoping they are able to give me some more definitive answers. I’ve now been told that the car has 2 EGR valves. One is the low pressure EGR valve. It doesn’t sound right to me?

  4. Hi. I have a Skoda Rapid 1.4 diesel. I recently had my EGR valve replaced with a genuine part. Before it was throwing up EGR valve stuck closed and EML was constantly on. Now the EML comes on 70-80% of the time and usually has multiple codes. Including stuck closed, stuck open, circuit error and circuit pressure low. I have also had occasional glow plug flashing and stop start error on the dash, although when it’s plugged into the computer, no stop start error codes are displayed. Could there be a fault that is causing all these errors? Or could it be a duff EGR valve from TPS? Anybody who’s had any similar issues to me that managed to get this sorted? I’d very much appreciate to hear from you.
  5. Hi. Out if interest did you use the chipex paint? Did it do the trick? Was it a scratch or stone chip?
  6. Hi. I am thinking of buying a chipex product for the attached damage to my front bumper on my Rapid. Has anybody ever used their products or has anybody got any advice on what would be best to use on this damage?
  7. I am please to say I purchased a Skoda Rapid Spaceback and I am so far very pleased with it. I went for the 1.4 tdi and this is much nippier than I expected.
  8. Comfort, space and value sounds good. I guess I'll just have to take one for a drive and see what I think - I'm looking at both this weekend.
  9. Hi all. Any Rapid owners on here made the change from an Octavia to a Rapid. I was wondering if you were pleased with what you got from your Rapid. I am debating on buying a Rapid as I can get a much newer vehicle with my budget - I don't want to regret it though. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  10. I have owned a couple of Octavias in the past and am currently looking for a car. I am torn between buying a used Octavia or a new Rapud. For the same money I can get a nice decent spec Octavia or a new or nearly new Rapid. I have read mixed reviews of the Rapid - I think it is probably big enough for me but from what I remember of driving the Octavia it doesn't feel as quite a comfortable drive. I am interested to hear from anybody else who has owned both cars and to what their thoughts were. 3 year old Octavia or new/nearly new Rapid? By the way my username is Manccabbie - I am no longer a cabbie - this will be purely for personal use - I won't be using it as a taxi.
  11. Oh well, no replies. I've bought the MAP today and will see if it works tomorrow.
  12. I'm getting intermittent loss of power on my Octavia 1.9tdi DSG estate, I've had it on a VAGcom and it put up a fault code of p0113 - IAT sensor fault. Could this be a coincidence? I'm told the IAT is located with the MAP, does is it sound plausible that replacing this would cure my problem?
  13. Thanks. I'm not sure what to buy, the loss of power seems to be getting worse. :-(
