  1. Interesting. The car has been back with the dealer for over a week and they can't replicate the fault (despite it happening on two separate occasions with me) but haven't even removed the trim to investigate underneath. Rapidly losing faith in Skoda - the second issue I've had in only a few months of owning the car.

  2. Opened the boot to our MY19 Superb Combi and water came pouring out of somewhere inside the boot lid and poured over the inside of the boot (and everything in it!). It was dry and sunny outside and hasn’t rained much this week. I’m guessing this isn’t going to be an easy fix but if anyone has any idea for what might be going wrong here I’d be grateful. Worth noting there was no damp inside the car itself before opening.

  3. Worth posting an update on this for comedy value. To recap, the car was delivered with oil level below minimum on dipstick.

so Skoda Assist came out, checked it over and added oil to top up.

fast forward a few weeks and I checked the oil level...way above dipstick maximum. Thought the car must not be level. Checked again next time I used it, still high.

in the end had to get Skoda Assist out again. The guy agreed the oil level was too high and pumped off somewhere between 0.25 and 0.5 litres.

glad it’s finally at an acceptable level but shouldn’t have required so much back and forth to make it happen!

  4. Sport or Individual (where all the options are set to Sport except DCC which is set to Normal). I find if there are speed bumps it has to be Sport or the car wallows all over the place. Otherwise very happy with the setup. Will try comfort on the motorway but to be honest normal is so smooth already I'm not sure it will be a noticeable improvement.

  5. I'm loving the Apple Carplay feature, especially as it lets me use Waze. What I can't work out though is when I get a whatsapp notification it sits at the top of the screen and there is no way to clear it without pressing the 'home' button on the lower right corner and going back into Waze. Clicking on the notification prompts Siri to ask if I want the message read but there seems to be no way to just clear the notification. Anyone have any ideas? I'm on the Columbus system in a Superb Mk3.

  6. 300 miles into ownership and absolutely love the car. Stylish, fast, comfortable, spacious. A joy to drive and a cut above everything I've had before (which has included Audi, Alfa, VW & BMW). And I might be imagining it but it feels like the engine is more responsive and powerful than when I picked it up. Could this be the case having run it in for a few hundred miles or am I being daft?

  7. Interesting to read your thoughts on the DCC. I was also wondering if I'd made the right choice speccing it but I've been (generally) impressed. Comfort is almost unusable for me as too much floaty-ness. Sport is where it stays most of the time and it's really sharp, love it. Normal helps soften the ride so on road with no speed bumps or motorways I use it in individual with most other settings in sport but suspension on normal and the difference is noticeable. Any more thoughts on it having spent more time with the car?

  8. My first two services are free anyway but you're right it might be a good idea to request another PDI in light of this.

Xman believe it or not the number plate is straight as an arrow so they got something right! And the transport blocks were something I was aware of ahead of time so got them to double check, although the ride has been silky smooth since I picked it up so no issues there.

    ?

    What warning on the dash?

    ?

Was the car checked for any fault codes and were you given a print out if there were any?

What is the service indicator showing on your car to the next Inspection Service or Oil Change?

I personally didn't see a warning on the dash but the Skoda Assist guy did. Don't think it was checked for any fault codes.

Don't know what the service indicator is!

    where exactly?

Just by the latch at the front

  10. So Skoda Assist came out to check over the car. No leaks but confirmed the oil was low and also noted a warning on the dash which I hadn’t seen. Added close to a litre of quantum 5w30 to get up to the max mark and we’re good to go again. Annoyed that the dealer didn’t do the proper checks but glad it’s been remedied quickly and easily.

  11. Yeah mine is right at the bottom of the dipstick “zone” which according to the manual is too low. I would do it myself to save hassle but maybe you’re right and I should just take it in on the weekend and have it done by a professional. Won’t be the dealer I bought from as that’s a 2 hour drive away but got another official VW/Audi/Skoda dealer who’s agreed to do it and the original dealer pay for it.
