All very fine as long as you know how to take the front off the handle to find the key slot, and then work out how to disengage the alarm system when it activates. Keeping spare batteries outside the car is a much better option.

Really glad to say that replacing the Energiser battery with a Panasonic has got rid of the message. Thanks to all for helpful messages.

Thanks for this. I replaced my key batteries with Energisers from Halfords, and it seems as though I should try other makes of battery as a way of getting rid of the message.

Having replaced the battery in my key fob I am still getting the message 'Please replace key battery' whenever I press the starter button. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? DonCat

How do you permanently disable the internal sensor? I have a dog that triggers the alarm in my Karoc when I forget to go into the Infotainment screen to turn off the sensor. With my previous Octavia it was possible to just turn the internal alarm off once and for all, but this seems not possible with my Karoc. Any one had the same issue?
