1.4 16v BXW engine overheat dash light
Re. The heat exchanger on the back of the engine, yes I know all about that I changed it 30,000 miles ago. Sigh. Stupid design (plastic moulded part that carries how water in a part of the engine bay that gets hottest - what could possibly go wrong?) More green eco nonsense, over engineered stuff that fails early, often causing the car to be scrapped. Rant over.

1.4 16v BXW engine overheat dash light
No oil inside. It was kind of on the threads. Could have spilled on top of vessel and seeped down? Agree top up and monitor coolant. Whereabout can I find the oil cooler on this engine?

1.4 16v BXW engine overheat dash light
Hello My 2009 roomster with 16v 1.4 petrol had the overheating dash light up today (a very hot day). Restarting the car removed the light. It has never done this before. When cooled down, I examined the coolant it appeared a like it had lost a little. But more worryingly the coolant header cap had a little fresh motor oil on it - car had an oil change last week. Also on the cap was a little white chalk-like grit on the threads. Any idea what could it be?

Roomster drivers window juddery closing
Hi My 2010 MK1 roomster the drivers electric window opens fine but closing it judders and can take multiple presses of the button to finally get it closed. I have fixed the door loom already. I think the window regulator is ok as I can't hear any unusual noises. Is it time to look for another window motor? Does anyone know the part number?

Rear light cluster question
It could well be just as a reflector. Funny thing is that there appears to be a light bulb under there Maybe I am mistaken Anyway who cares - the car has all the lights it needs to get through an MOT and not be stopped on the road by plod.

Rear light cluster question
Hi In the rear lights on a Roomster Mk1 - the topmost light in the cluster - what is it for? I can't get it to do anything on my car, and I can't even see the purpose of it? Anyone know? PS I have tested fog, indicators, parking , reversing, brake and they all work fine.
