  1. Just in case it helps anyone else, it seems to have been a temporary glitch with the Skoda web site as all worked normally this morning.
  2. I have had a Skoda Superb for a couple of years and last year renewed the Skoda Connect service without any difficulty. I have now received an email to say that it needs renewing again but when I click on the link and follow things through I get the following message "No vehicle with Skoda Connect services is available for this account at the moment. Please go to the Skoda Connect Portal and add such a vehicle to your account" However, all the details of my car are clearly on the site. Is this a timing issue (it is a little over a month till the renewal date) or is there a more significant problem with the service?
  3. I have had my Superb for about a year so the Connect Services are coming up for renewal. When I look at what is involved, it seems to fall into two parts, "Remote Access" for £36 and "Infotainment Online" for £44, giving a total of £80 for one year. This seems very expensive. Does anyone actually renew?
  4. I am looking to get an electric tyre inflator, but with so many on the market would appreciate some guidance. To start somewhere, I was looking at a Ring RTC1000. However some reviewers suggest that there can be a problem with fitting the connector into the 12v socket in the car. Has anybody got experience of these or, indeed, an alternative suggestion to make?
  5. Gax, Thank you for another very helpful reply. The GDPR point hadn't occurred to me. I won't find the message quite as annoying now.
  6. 100andthirty, Thank you very much. that was very helpful.
  7. I have just got a new Skoda Superb SEL with the Amundsen infotainment equipment. Generally I am very pleased with it, but every time I start the car, I get a message pop up on the infotainment screen saying "Data transfer is currently set to “Share my position”. You can find out what this setting entails and how you can change it in the control centre." At the moment I have no idea what the "control centre" is or how to stop this annoying little message popping up every time I start the car. All help and advice would be really appreciated.
  8. In the autunm of 2017 I got a Skoda Superb and have been very pleased with it. As my four year PCP is coming to an end, I thought I might replace it with a new Skoda Superb. I have the SEL version. However, when I look at the new SEL, the specification seems to have been reduced. For example the Columbus Infotainment is now an Amundsen. Has anyone noticed any other significant changes.
  9. I have for some time now had an intermittent vibration or rattle. It occurs especially when going over slightly uneven surfaces and appears to come from the rear vent just at the back of the central console. Has anybody else had this and, if so, what was the solution?
  10. Many thanks to all who helped. In the end I played safe and used a third party utility to format the card in FAT32. After that all went without a hitch, but I was a bit surprised (in a good way) to find that once the update had started, it seemed to continue even with the ignition off and the car locked.
  11. Thank you for your help. In Windows 10 the only options seemed to be NTFS or exFAT. Will exFAT work OK or do I need to use a third party utility to format in FAT32?
  12. Having read several posts about updating the Columbus Satnav, I think I am ready to take the plunge for the first time. However, there is just one point. Does it matter whether the SD card is formatted in FAT32 or NTFS?
  13. I am about to update the satnav (Columbus) and am not clear as to whether the SD card needs to be formatted in FAT32, NTFS or doesn't it matter? Can anyone advise me please?
  14. I have a Superb bought new in October 2017 and the time has come when I really should update the maps in the satnav. I have understood the instructions on how to do that, but my question is how long it takes to transfer the data from, say, a Class X SD card to the system. I have seen references to up to 8 hours, but I expect that that is pretty extreme. What can I expect in practice?
