  1. That’s great info. I will take note when refitting them. Unfortunately a brake callipers seized the other day, so need to do a caliper re-seal before getting on to bodywork. Oh the joys of an ancient car!
  2. That’s great, thanks. These forums always come to My rescue. I’ll give it a go in a couple of days weather permitting. Thanks for the advice Dunk
  3. Hi All I’m about to treat some rust and respray the bottom of the doors on My 2009 Yeti. I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the rubbing strips? Is it from the outside or inside the door? TIA Dunk
  4. Hi Today I finally found the time to have a look behind the bumper. Luckily as the car is a bit of a state I wasn’t too worried about removing it carefully and found that I only needed to undo the driver’s bottom section. This gave Me enough access to refit the parking sensor and also refit the washer pump. Looks like the reservoir wasn’t broken after all. All back together now. The last job is the washer jet. It seems that the unit functions properly it’s just that the nozzles have been snapped off. I’ve seen replacement nozzles on eBay for a Golf/ jetta. Are these the same as the Yeti ones?
  5. Hi i managed to hit a Muntjac the other day in the pre FL Yeti!!!!! Luckily I was not going too fast. The only damage was a (possibly) punctured screen was bottle and a broken headlight washer. what I wanted to know is how do I get to the washer bottle? Does the entire bottom section of the bumper have to come off?
  6. Had a look at it today. I’ve managed to get it to shut without having to slam it which is a real bonus. Moved stops out of the way and used silicone lubricant on all rubber seals. I only had the time for a quick drive, but so far it seems to have reduced the noise significantly. I’ll start to move the stops back into position in the next few days
  7. Hi Thanks for the reply. I removed the rubber caps on the stops today but that didn’t change anything. I’ll adjust them tomorrow and try again. My car has had some slightly questionable paintwork in the past so I imagine that the boot has either been removed for work or replaced with a second hand one. Also the bolts on the hinges have some paint missing.
  8. Hi All Not been on for a while. when I first got My (ageing) 2009 Yeti CR 170 Elegance there was a reasonably annoying squealing/groaning sort of noise when going over bumps or when the chassis was being twisted (reversing onto My drive on full lock for instance). I have always assumed that it is coming from the tailgate as it needs a good slam to shut it and it seems to move a little when shut. now however it is beginning to drive Me mad as it has got a lot worse. Tomorrow I’ll be spending some time trying to adjust it and lubricating everything including rubber seals. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and are there any suggestions on a solution. cheers Dunk
  9. Sound quality (or lack of quality) is basically. Loads of distortion from the woofers and shrill/tinnyness from the tweeters. So much so that I had to disconnect the tweeters just to be able to listen to anything.
  10. Hi Langers Thanks for the reply. Always rely on You for good advice. I hadn’t considered the coding aspect, I’m glad You replied before I just bought one. My assumption is that an amp usually works or doesn’t work, so the coding aspect makes sense. Unless the head unit has enough power to send sound to the speakers. Judging by the size of the wires that leave the head unit I assume that they are just sending a signal To the amp
  11. Hi again further to the previous post, I have been offered a replacement amplifier matching the one in the car. does anyone think it’s worth changing ? do You think that the amp is A. The correct part B. Going to sort out the terrible sound quality? cheers Dunk
  12. Hi All a quick question. I have the 12 Speaker ‘sound system’ in My ‘09 Yeti. The sound is absolutely awful. I changed the front woofers to see it they were shot, but that didn’t change anything. I checked the amp under the seat. It is a Blaupunkt 3TO 035 456 10channel with Audi and VW logos does this sound right? I’m thinking that maybe it has been changed for the wrong one in the past. does anyone think that the amp would be the issue with the terrible sound? cheers
  13. Hi All a quick question. I have the 12 Speaker ‘sound system’ in My ‘09 Yeti. The sound is absolutely awful. I changed the front woofers to see it they were shot, but that didn’t change anything. I checked the amp under the seat. It is a Blaupunkt 5C6 035 456 10channel with Audi and VW logos but no Skoda does this sound right? I’m thinking that maybe it has been changed for the wrong one in the past
  14. Hi Zib, great help, thanks. although it was around 6 degrees this morning I did as You said. I could see the needle rising within half a mile of leaving home. Around 3 miles it was at 90 degrees. Thanks for the help, it has saved either a lot of time and swearing or a lot of money! Thanks again Dunk
  15. I do defrost the screen with warm water, but have not tried turning climate off completely. ill give it a go next time I go to work thanks
