mwlee512 , did you buy the discs or did you download yourself ? I need to update both in my Columbus & are not confident / capable of dowloading myself if you buy them can I ask where from & I assume you had no issues ? TIA 👍

Thanks Pab567 for the response excuse my ignorance but how do I upgrade to 5274 ? can I buy a disc from the internet as not confident downloading myself I can only seem to find firmware 5238 on line ? Again thanks for the response 👍

I am pretty sure my Columbus has never had a firmware / map update The hidden menu quotes HW version - H08 SW version - 5218 map version - 7918 the car is a late 2012 model . is it now too late to do both updates as I don't want to buy both discs ( firmware & map ) from the internet ( i/e from satnavishop etc ) & cause more harm than good , the Columbus is working perfectly , sometimes a bit slow to get going in the mornings ( but aren’t we all as we get older 😁 ) is it better to leave it alone as if it aint broke don’t fix it or go for it , the last thing I want to do is end up with less features or the unit yo stop working all together & if I do what apart from up to date maps what will I gain I know this subject is well covered in other threads but as my unit has never had any updates I am not sure if they are relevant any advise / recommendations would be greatly appreciated 👍

All done & hardest part was having to take down the undertray when I dropped a screw 🤦‍♂️ thanks for all the advice /responses, much appreciated as always 👍 run up for a bit but did not warm up till I took it for a run , best test will be when I go to work @ the crack of dawn in the morning 🤞it sorts the temperature issues otherwise next step is the engine thermostat , unless there is something else that may be causing the slow warming up , temp dropping on idle ? thanks again for the assistance

Got no clamps & bungs so may loose a bit more ☹️ no special knowledge / process needed to replace stat I assume , remove / replace & top up coolant ? dont want to cause any more issues / problems 🤦‍♂️

Also interested as considering a remap for both engine & gearbox , mines a 62 plate 170 dsg diesel twin hatch would be interested in the differences / improvements / drawbacks any recommendations in Hertfordshire as to who to use if I did take the plunge 👍

Just about to replace DSG thermostat as also having temperature issues & just wondering how much coolant is lost when disconnecting the old stat ? Want to make sure I have enough before starting TIA 👍 FYI lots of aftermarket options available through the factor market from numerous brands ( mine was as Gates brand ) odd as my local Skoda dealer did not stock the stat & advised me never ordered / sold 1 🤔
