  1. Okay but what if the bearing was also replaced, is there anything else that could be causing the creaking?
  2. Not sure about the bearings, it was independent that carried out the work and the parts ordered were a coil sprint and suspension top mount from a local GSF store. When I took it back to them, he said the top mount looked fine and could potentially be a CV boot or hub bearing, advised to carry on driving until the sound got louder.
  3. But that's the thing, the strut-top was replaced when I changed the coil spring. What lubrication should I try on it?
  4. So had a broken coil spring and top mount replaced on the drivers side recently, about a week or so later when turning the wheel full lock on the drivers side, I hear a creaking noise. Now this only happens when setting off very slowly or even when stationary dependent on the surface but more so when the car is moving. Question I have, is this linked to the coil spring or top mount or something else?
  5. Any near or in the Bradford area? Not sure I want to take my car to the local dealers for an oil change.
  6. Yeah, will get all of the above checked when I get chance to take the car into my local mechanics.
  7. Having been out in mine earlier today, it sounds as if its coming from under the steering wheel or centre dash! More a vibration than a rattle if that makes sense but could be classed as a rattle too I guess. I wonder if its the fuel lines under the car.
  8. Thanks for that, thats a right list of things to check! I'm still leaning towards it being something under the car but could be wrong. Its just so difficult to pin point where the sound is coming from.
  9. My Octy VRS has developed an annoying sound which I can only describe as a rattle, like some bit of the interior or something within one of storage areas is rattling away. Thing is, I am not sure if its coming from the interior of the car or outside, underneath the engine area! Probably a long shot, but Is any common areas of rattles that are known on the mk3 octavia's? Or could this be something lose on perhaps the under tray? Oh its worth mentioning that sound can only be heard when driving over un-even/bumpy rough roads at slow speeds, this is where you can hear the sound.
  10. The Superb is a nice step up from the Octy.. What did you sell it for if you don't mind me asking?
  11. Most definitely the fuse that will need replacing. Its fuse no 40, a yellow (20).
  12. Was the fuse, all fixed now and the glove box isn't as hard to take out and put back in as I initially thought.
  13. Thanks, just watching videos on how to access the fuse box on these Octy's - have to say, not the most well thought out place to put the damn thing! Glove box needs to come out which seems a little fiddly.
  14. Hi Peeps, Only just noticed this when connecting one of my iPhone chargers via the 12v socket and nothing happened. Not a major concern for charging a phone as I have the usb option however I'm unable to use my portable tyre pump. Checked both sockets (boot & centre console) and both have no power. Is this likely to be a fuse or something else?
  15. Whats the scheduling for replacing the cambelt and water pump on the 184 tdi engine? Mine was replaced in 2019 @ 80k miles, vehicle is now on 125,500k..
  16. 2.0 TDI 184 2013 VRS Estate 125,500 miles Cambelt/watepump changed once 6 speed manual Not sure about gearbox oil Nothing major other than rear coil springs being replaced. Question, if the cambelt/waterpump were replaced at 81k miles back in 2019, am I due to replace again now that I'm approaching 126k?
