  1. Agreed with remapping. A simple remap makes a HUGE difference and won't make any harm. I had done it @308k kms and I've reached 348k recently. HUGE difference in pulling power, you don't have the feeling that "it would go but something holds it back". Definitely go for a custom one, where all the data is checked. I'd add one more thing to the list of clutch and coils. Fuel pump. You'll definitely need a new one with bigger flow. The remapper should check the data, and if it goes lean even if it is close to redline, change it also, don't risk not having enough fuel.
  2. Hey there, I need some help from someone who replaced only the rotating (middle) part of the ignition barrel. The usual problem reached me, the end of the rotating part, that goes into the ignition module, broke off. I bought a complete FEBI ignition barrel, but I wasn't convinced by the quality, so decided to change the rotating part only. I took it apart carefully to know what goes where... and it doesn't want the truth. I need another half a mm for the clip that holds all in place. I tried all, measured all parts.... everything is the same, but it just doesn't want to go together. Everything is the same size to the hundredth mm. No vid or detailed instructions for "dummies" for the Mk1 or Golf 4. The Mk2 is different. I've already spent at least 5hrs with it.... and no. Anyone who also replaced the rotating part only? Cheers!
