  1. Bought all three parts from www.autopartspro.co.uk 4-5 days delivery around 70 quid all in.
  2. Awesome thanks for the reply. Already got the tool so will probably get a kit from whoever can deliver sooner
  3. It's a good thing the local garages are busy and can't fit me in as it's stopped me being lazy and I've pulled the alternator off this morning and established its the clutch that's gone. Locking the alternator from turning the pulley is solid in both directions. Back in work now but will order clutch, belt and new tensioner later today. Any suggestions for supplier much appreciated
  4. Thanks for the replies. I've not driven it and decided to take the train to work. I'll get it booked in to a local garage I trust to sort it. I'll report back once sorted to close this off 👍
  5. Hi all, tomorrow (Sunday) I need to drive to Heathrow from Cornwall and typically my forever reliable 09 scout has developed a loud rumble at tickover. Investigation shows something (tensioner) moving around (see video) There's no chance of me getting it fixed today in time for tomorrow so I am wondering if I can safely drive it? 6. Thanks for getting back to me, I had some new tyres fitted and the garage said they'd make sure the rim was seating well. So far so good. I think when its not in daily use I'll get them cleaned up as quite happy with them if they don't leak.
  7. Thanks for the reply. Yes it could be I'm just thinking that the previous 4 tyres had similar issues as the new ones last year. I've got the two fronts to replace again due to mileage and premature wear. I don't want to go down a refurb route and they still leak
  8. Hi all, I am sure I read something on here a while back but can't find anything now. Anyway, these wheels on my car 09 scout are a right mess and two have a slow leak even after new tyres last year and I'm bored of keeping the pressures up each week and the premature tyre weak etc, What are sensible like for like alternatives so I don't have to go through the faff of trying to get this sorted out? Thanks
  9. Thanks again for the replies, I've had VAG cars for years but whenever I've contacted our local TPS they've not been keen to sell to the public. I'm in no rush, I'll get round to it one day, it starts, drives and stops as it should
  10. StickyMicky thanks for the detailed reply, much appreciated. I did look at skoda-parts but couldn't identify it. How do I check the build date? Mine was first registered in December 2009, it has the FL dash etc, but the earlier front bumper. Good to know what the new price is but now I know what it is I'll start asking at breakers, I've seen people breaking them on ebay but not followed them up yet.
  11. Hi all, I bought my ex regency services 2009 scout back in April 2018 as a temporary stop gap and to see if I could go down from a VW transporter to an estate car. It's been incredible with everything on it working and nearly 20k miles later apart from a few scars from its previous life, which it wears as badges of honour, there's nowt wrong with it. 175k and still going strong. One battle scar I've been toying with ironing out is a piece of plastic missing from the passenger wing. So I'm now trying to work out what it's called and where I can get it from. I've done the occasional forum and Google search and not found it. Any help will be appreciated. Cheers and merry Christmas to you all. Dan
  12. Thanks for both replies Mazzer, it's helpful. I've for a bluetooth FM receiver which is OK but I'd like to control tracks from the head unit. Did this allow for that? I had been looking are adding something like below and plug it into the 3.5 aux that I don't us, but I know this won't give track control etc.
  13. I'm interested in what this is Mazzer. Can you share any details please?
