  1. Hi all, I no longer own a Skoda however this has by far been the most helpful forum I've ever come across so I thought I'd try my luck... I have owned since July 2020 a lovely 2011 Scirocco R - I have recently noticed potentially a few issues. The oil smells of petrol, the oil used to reach 90 degrees but stopped doing so a few months ago (driving normal will sit at around 75 and driving fast will get up to 85 or so) and the fuel economy has gone south for no reason (when I initially got the car I could easily achieve 35 to 40 mpg and now I struggle to get 30). The car also judders a bit when idling (almost like a misfire however the revs are steady) Only thing I can think of is bad injector somewhere maybe? I've wanted one of these for over 10 years but to be honest it's kind of annoying having random issues like this (the car is a 1 owner with 18k miles when I picked it up, just ticked over 20k miles the other day and full VW history, should be solid!) thank you very much in advance
  2. Final update - sold the Fabia last night
  3. Ah I get ya, nah I just wanted to change the throttle mapping. ...and it did so happy days
  4. I got the most basic one from PedalBox/DTE.
  5. @Kobayashi I too dislike the lag! From what I can tell it isn't just the turbo lag, but also the throttle mapping. After months of research trying to change the throttle with OBD11 and getting nowhere, I bit the bullet and got a pedalbox. I know it isn't a popular opinion, but it is genuinely excellent. I have it turned up quite high because I like to have pretty close to 0 lag. I did enquire about lag when I went into JBS for custom mapping and they said they werent aware of how to get rid of it. Hence why I decided to get the pedalbox...
  6. @FabiaGonzales Thats great!!! I cant wait to see the final result! Im now thinking I should be taking mine to ADE... @J40STA JBS do one for the UP! GTI - If Im not mistaken thats the same base engine as the Fabia 1.0 TSI - so IN THEORY that would fit your engine even though they state its for the UP! GTI. It would be worth finding out directly from them. Their UP! now runs around 185bhp with their turbo kit
  7. WOW!!! And this is on standard exhaust right? No sports cat or decat right?! Incredible!
  8. That sounds pretty great!! Very very similar to the Forge one (I have the Forge fitted). Im guessing you also get a lot of intake sound when on power at lowish RPM? I do & I love it
  9. WOW! Sounds like they're the guys to go to..
  10. @FabiaGonzales if you dont mind me asking, what made you go with ADE instead of JBS? I ask because I really like the map JBS did on my Fabia, but to be fair I dont know any work done by ADE...
  11. Thank you very much, that doesnt sound too bad at all...
  12. Excellent, thank you very much, that was very helpful
  13. In my opinion the ambient lighting just makes it a really nice place to be in especially in the winter months when it gets really dark really early. I usually like OEM lighting like the one you can get in the Superb - just the thin LED strip running along the doors and dashboard. Nothing else. It is literally a case of if I can't get an Octavia or Superb with the ambient lighting, there is no point swapping cars at the moment. Only benefit to me from my Fabia to an Octavia or Superb would be just the ambient lighting. I don't need the extra room or anything like that...
  14. Heres some questions for the more mechanical minded: 1 - If I wanted to upgrade the gearbox from 5 speed to 6 speed say from the TSI 110, would it be a simple bolt on job? I'm guessing space and actual fitting points won't be an issue, but I'm more thinking about clutch and flywheel. Obviously the clutch will also be converted to the one from the 110 to work with the gearbox, but what about the flywheel? Can the flywheel from the TSI 90 work with the clutch from the 110? 2 - For those of you who changed your own turbo to the TSI 150, how difficult is it? And what is the process? Do you need to get the car in the air or did you do it all with access from the engine bay? Did you also need to drain all the oil and coolant from the engine? And is there anything that you need to remove to access the turbo or is it pretty accessible? Thank you
  15. Thats excellent, cant wait to have mine done! Not sure if it is viable or not, but have you thought about the 6 speed in the 1.2 110 or the 1.4 140/150? Again, not done any research but just thinking of best way to sort it without over complicating it... I have the pop map too!! I love the pops but hate how loud the exhaust is when accelerating and its only a catback! Ill probably get some silencers in when going decat...
  16. @R44YVY I am also thinking of getting the turbo from the 1.4 put in. Have you had yours mapped yet? Correct me if Im wrong, but I believe youre running decat right? Whats noise level like?
  17. This has been resolved! JBS has confirmed another owner has complained about the same thing and it turns out it is the wastegate I think they said it was. Apparently it is quite common for them to get "tired" over time and start rattling a bit
  18. Hi, I currently drive a 1.2 TSI Fabia MC & I'm considering a change. Only problem is I am having trouble finding the info I need so I'm reaching out to helpful owners I am torn between getting a MK3 Octavia 1.4 TSI (looking at either SEL or SE Sport) and a MK3 Superb. My main consideration is the interior - does any of the Octavias have ambient lighting or any kind of interior lighting other than the usual ceiling lights? At first I was set on the Superb Sportline, but apparently they don't have ambient lighting as standard! I'll be looking at used by the way and ideally before April 2017 so we get the benefit of cheaper car tax (can't justify paying more yearly for the same engine and power output) thank you all in advance
  19. My car is already tuned - it has a custom map from JBS and is running 143 bhp on the dyno.
  20. I can't do that, my car doesn't even have that anymore - It's got a forge intake
  21. So Ive tried running on super unleaded and the rattle is still there. Im puzzled as to what it could be at this point
  22. For anyone interested - JBS in chesterfield is now doing stage 3 kits for the 1.0 TSI - reaches circa 180bhp & their UP! GTI managed to do 0-60 in 5.8 secs! Im not sure if its applicable or not but I imagine the kit would be compatible with the Fabia 1.0 TSI
  23. @bonelorry I'm glad someone else agrees with me! Obviously the Golf R is much quicker to 60, but when talking about pure handling feel and driving pleasure, the FWD platform really is very very sweet indeed 👌
  24. I absolutely agree! 😁
