  1. Also did a resonator delete to try and improve a bit of the audio inside the cabin, which I'm not sure has worked to be honest even though it sounds WAAAY better from the outside... VID-20230603-WA0000.mp4
  2. After much deliberation and endless hours of researching, FINALLY found a set of wheels that would actually look decent inside the Scirocco arches. They are Bola B1's, 18x8.5 ET30 - they sit just right on the car, as flush as it can be. I'm really happy with my decision! 😄 Tyres are Uniroyal Rainsport 5's 235/40R18
  3. This looks like an excellent setup! And I'm really glad to see someone do something similar to me, when I had my Fabia Monte Carlo on Eibach lowering springs I first ran 17 inch Team Dynamics wheels, which were great for racing but a bit rubbish for roads with potholes, I then downsized to 15 inch steelies and it was friggin amazing!!! Still lowered but on 15 inch wheels you could fly over every pot hole covered road like they weren't there! I'm going for a similar type of setup with my Scirocco R soon - I' m going for 17 inch wheels which I'm being told is ridiculous and will look pathetic, but I really dont care!! 🤣
  4. Thank YOU for putting it together 👌 I'm not in York no, I'm based in Hatfield just east of Doncaster so not too far and last few weeks I've been spending some time in York for business. I do some stints on the A64 too! I'm going to be on the lookout for sure! 😄
  5. Absolutely bloody brilliant build! My first car was a 2015/64 Citigo SE 60 bhp 3dr in Tornado Red, bought it brand new and had to give it back to the finance company a couple years later. Since the UP GTI came out I've been waiting for a Citigo VRS, but yeah, if they had done that they would've outsold the VW by many many units. I guess same reason why a mk3 Fabia VRS never came... Seriously impressive work! I've never seen this around York unfortunately, but seriously cool car! I've got a small YouTube channel where I document all car related things and I'm just now planning to start doing some DIY stuff, but the end goal is doing something like this, such great quality, proper proper impressive stuff this is!
  6. @Throw_Rope first of all I'm gutted that you're having such an awful experience, honestly there is nothing more frustrating than trying to find what is wrong with the car and having the dealer not help! Unfortunately I'm not an expert so I can't give you much help, however I do have a LOT of experience around cars - I worked in the motor trade previously and I've driven well in excess of 1,000 cars so I've definitely experienced cars with some weird behaviours. From your initial post the first thing that comes to mind is the battery is not happy for one reason or another, either not charging properly (regular short trips? alternator not fully working?) or perhaps one of the battery connections isn't happy somewhere in the car (hopefully this isn't the case as it makes things much more complicated!) - If you can, try to get your hands on an OBDeleven, I have one for the many VAG cars I've had over the years and really helps when trying to figure out what's wrong, it's basically a little diagnostics computer you plug into the OBD port (under the steering wheel on the right hand side in UK cars, but not sure where it would be in LHD cars) and then connects to your mobile phone/tablet device through Bluetooth and you can scan the whole system and it'll flag any currently active issues which may help in tracking down the root cause of the problem. I would still think the issue is battery related, one thing I've learned is modern cars are incredibly sensitive to low battery, it affects all the computers around the car in all sorts of wonderful and ridiculous ways. Best of luck!
  7. This being a forum and me not knowing what the noise actually sounds like I feel like I need to state that I'm not an expert in any way and I'm only trying to help fellow humans by sharing my previous experiences - I had a 2016 Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo 1.2 TSI 90 from nearly new (was 18 months old and had 9k miles when I got it from DM Keith in Wakefield), always serviced at least every 10k miles/every 12 months but more often than not I'd try to service it every 6 months. At some point around mid 2020 the car started doing a very mild metallic rattle when using the accelerator, very much like what you're describing. In the end I never actually got it sorted because I reached the end of my PCP and couldn't justify paying to keep the car as at the time I wasn't commuting, however I did contact my regular garage (JBS Auto Designs over in the Chesterfield/Sheffield area) and they were pretty certain is was something to do with the turbo wastegate (I think that's what they said, but don't quote me on that as I might be getting the part name mixed up), and at the time I remember them saying that this part of the turbo which they believed to be failing is a fairly common thing on the EA211 1.2 TSI. So perhaps thats something to look at
  8. I got an OBDEleven when I got my Fabia just to activate certain functions. The needle sweep function can be enabled, fog lights can be enabled to act as cornering lights up to a certain speed, I've also enabled headlights and tail lights to act as interior lights (IE come on when car unlocked, come on when getting out of the car, etc etc), and I'm sure there are a few other bits which I can't remember
  9. Stage 1 remap done! Impressive numbers, not just for me but also for the JBS guys. Scirocco hit 313 bhp which isn't unusual however this was done running 95 octane fuel! Honestly I wasn't expecting more than 300 bhp on 95 for stage 1 and was thinking 315 to 320 for stage 2 on 95. I'm very happy with the results! Graph below
  10. That is very interesting indeed - I wonder at what point garages decide its leaking vs misting.
  11. I'm now on my third mk3 Fabia TSI and I am starting to get a feeling the OEM front dampers aren't of great quality. My first one (bought at 18 months old with 9k miles) I think I had to swap front dampers 3 times, and now the one I just got which has 35k miles I was checking the other day and noticed it has leaks on the front dampers too so they'll need replacing fairly soon.
