  1. I can't  understand either why it works on some and not on others.

Had a call from Skoda UK yesterday the update has been released to fix the kangaroo on startup.

This is the last chance saloon then it goes back if no change.

  2. Thanks for that the kangaroo it's not so much of a problem although it is annoying, it's the hesitation that is more concerning some times the power is there, the next time you put your foot down and nothing.will wait until Skoda UK phone me and if the update is going the be a way of then it's time for another hire car.

  3. Has anyone had the 2 software updates and still got the same problems.

Mine went back for a diagnostic check last week , the results were the same the receptionist showed me the paperwork and said as we expected there's no change to the fault.

  4. Hi no paper work forthcoming even though l asked for a copy of the results of the checks done today, Skoda don't give out results as it may be commercially sensitive. So will wait for Paul from UK Skoda to get InTouch again to see where l stand. At present don't hold out much hope.

  5. Well l've had both updates for kangaroo, stalling & being reluctant in 2nd and still have the same problems this after  3000 miles. This is all being dealt with by Skoda UK , this morning took it back to the Skoda dealer ship  to have a diagnostic check done only to be told there is no change and need to wait for the next soft ware update to be rolled out. Had the car since the end of January  after exchanging my Yeti (wish we had never done it now) which was a lovey car to drive, this one however is a night mare your always on tender hooks worrying about if its going to stall. We got the car on a PCB deal and will be looking to get it exchanged if the next update falls flat if we can get our deposit back we will be looking else where for another car Skoda have let us down, we were sold a car that had known faults with the engine which could cause a safety issue.

  6. Hi

Well it's April the 1st and my Karoq has be in for the software update (let's hope it's not an April Fool)

although it says on the paper work car juddering and pulling away which was not my problem 2nd gear issues was. On driving it home and using 2nd gear as l always have, it did not display the engine dieing in low revs so let's hope that's the end of if.

Similar tale here (except mine is a Superb 1.5 TSi); my dealer said last week, in response to my observing that we are pretty close to Q2 and therefore it might be expected that Skoda have more information or a better timeline, that he had no more information at all.

    I feel your pain

    Dear Mr Walton

Further to my email dated 11 March, regarding the software update to 1.5 Tsi engines.

Presently I do not have any further updates regarding the software release for the 1.5 Tsi engine, I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. As previously advised the software will be released any time in quarter two, so between April and June. I will follow up with you again on 19 April to confirm if there has been any progress on this matter.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Kind regards

So no update till June. My Karoq is sitting outside not been used for four weeks so angry.

I have had the same problem, l took ownership of my new Karoq aweek ago and this has happened 4 times. I contacted the Skoda dealer who explained l may need to change my driving habits but l insisted it get checked out. When l arrived at the dealership today it was explained to me that Skoda were aware of the problem and the ECR needed a software update, which they were working on.

    Watch this space.

Up date to explain what’s happened since my previous post.

Been in touch with Skoda UK who have phoned me numerous times regarding the problems with loss of power, l told them in no uncertain terms that it was a serious fault which could be life changing.

I now have a hire car parked along side my nice new Karoq which was arranged by Skoda UK, this will be until the software update becomes available.

Another worrying thing I was chatting to an x traffic officer today, after telling him about the problems l was having with the car, loss of power and just stopping for no reason. He said l could possibly be prosecuted if involved in an accident driving a car with a known fault and how would you stand with car insurance.
