  1. Seems to be quiet on the forums which would indicate they have found a work around. Not sure if it was software or hardware or both.
  2. This really is a mystery....my wife has a 2019 1.5Tsi DSG 4x4 (Kodiaq) and I have been pleasantly surprised how smooth and relatively nippy if rather juicy the engine/car has been.
  3. Indeed.......Bob Flavin is a great “car guy”. Says it as it is. He is a real fan of Skoda, check his reviews of the Kodiaq, Superb and Octavia. His channel accepts no funding or sponsorship of any kind from motor manufacturers which is no doubt why he hints at the fact no other press reviews mention the issues.
  4. Thank you for this....very similar to my experience. MPG seems to be improving gradually as the miles go up also.
  5. Hi @Stu_Magoo, we have got the same drivetrain combo and as you say it is exceptionally smooth, quiet and powerful enough 95% of the time over the first 2,000 miles. Out of interest, what is a typical mpg achieved?
  6. Once again it’s the manual gearbox and 1.5tsi combination that is problematic. Whilst there are cases of DSG 1.5tsi issues they appear few and far between in comparison.
  7. Errr....I have one and it doesn’t. I think a fact is a valid argument.
  8. I thought this too originally. The ring volume on the phone I have put down to 2 out of 10 but doesn’t appear to correlate to the volume of the ring in the car.
  9. Hi All Have the 9.2inch Columbus. I have perused the 344 page owners manual but can’t see how to turn down the pre set volume of the ring for incoming calls over Bluetooth. Once answered, the call itself is perfectly normal volume...but the actual ringing is soooo loud! Whilst it is ringing I can turn it down by using controls on the steering wheel - but it then reverts back to a very loud ring volume for the next call. As I said the actual call itself is a normal volume, it is the very, very loud ring I am trying to lower. Grateful for any guidance.
  10. Hi All My wife took delivery approx 3 weeks ago of a build week 8/9 Kodiaq 1.5 Tsi SEL with DSG 4x4. In that short time the engine/transmission has been faultless. Very, very smooth, quiet and no hesitation or strange behaviour whatsoever. The weather has been mild to warm with the odd exception when it was down to 4 degrees in the morning. Car has been stuck in traffic and also on the motorway and runs beautifully to date. We are very aware of the issues many have suffered - but as of today none have shown up with our car. Hopefully this will continue.
  11. So the long wait is over. 6 months and one week since the process began my wife has taken delivery earlier today of her (not so)little Bear. Kodiaq 1.5 Tsi 4x4 DSG SE-L. Extras included: Quartz Grey Paint, Heated Steering Wheel, Triglav Alloys, Beige Leather Interior, Elec Tow Bar and electrics and of course the DSG Box. I know I’ve forgotten something or other but that is the majority of it. She is coming from a Volvo XC90 which has been a wonderful companion for the last 5 years and has been a real spacious and solid workhorse with perfect reliability. The Kodiaq has a tall order to full fill. Car was delivered with 40 odd miles and has been driven round the village a few times by herself to test - so up to 70 odd miles now. Initially impressions are positive; fit and finish and parts excellent, easily on par with VW if not quite Audi levels...I had an A8 previously which was epic in this department. The Beige Leather Interior really is very, very sharp and adds a real level of luxury to the interior. It’s not really practical with a 7 year old boy and 18mth baby to carry around - but we managed a similar colour scheme in the Volvo. I am apprehensive regards the problems many have had with the 1.5 Tsi engine, but I have also spoken with many that have not experienced issues. In the very short period and few miles covered today in relatively warm conditions the engine and DSG transmission have been smooth and sweet. I will be keeping a very, very close eye on this going forward. Overall we are delighted at this early stage, and hopefully as we get used to the infotainment and general drive systems in the coming days this impression will continue.
  12. VAG/Skoda......simply disgraceful
  13. It is the sellers who are the jerks.
  14. Ahh....now it’s the summer. Before that it was end of 2nd quarter, before that early second quarter and before that it was before end of March. They are making it up as they go. Standard Proceedure for VAG.
