  1. Petrol 1.5 Sportline. Virtual Cockpit.
  2. 22. Build completely out of the blue. Nobody expected it.
  3. After slipping build date a couple of times my February order is now built and on the way. So there is some movement it seems.
  4. Just to add to this we picked up the wife’s new Seat Arona today. The virtual cockpit will show full CarPlay information. Song title and artist, plus artwork. Pretty impressed as I wasn’t expecting that at all.
  5. My dealer says that isn’t true and cars can slip in and out of build regardless. Mine slipped then moved back to its mid June build week but as the dealer says nowadays until it’s built and shipped it doesn’t really mean a lot.
  6. I don’t think anyone is judging at all. Just pointing out that for those of us waiting the problem with switching to another car is that right now if you actually want a kodiaq or something in that class there isn’t anything readily available. Not without spending a lot more or making compromises on what you get. That doesn’t mean you can’t go and get a Tucson or whatever. Great car. But if I only needed a mid size I’d go and get one or a sportage as they seem more available. The problem is it’s much harder in large suv land if that’s what you need.
  7. You’ve not read the post properly. It’s nothing about being good. You’ve bought something in the mid size suv bracket. Whereas the Kodiaq is a large suv with 7 seats. If I wanted a Karoq equivalent I’ve seen Sportage’s and Tucson’s available even Q3’s. But it’s the 7 seater size that is the problem. There isn’t anything equivalent and under £40K that can be got quickly.
  8. But you’ve spent all that time and not found a car in the same class (as in size) bracket as the Kodiaq. The problem is not if you are happy for a Karoq replacement there are a few cars around. If you want something equivalent to a Kodiaq there is absolutely nothing available right now or what is available is heavily compromised.
  9. I mean I agree. The longer it goes on the less likely anyone is to get a car. But if you go and order something else you face another long wait. Or you face a huge price increase for something that doesn’t offer what the kodiaq does. Even at current list price it’s hard to find anything you will get quicker than a kodiaq that will come any quicker.
  10. I mean I sort of agree. But I think they are on a lease. And the problem is there is very little that can actually offer what a kodiaq does in the same price bracket. I’ve looked recently as mine is delayed but you can’t get a tarraco. The Tiguan allspace is with very limited availability and long wait times for an order. After that you are simply going to have to pay more for a Santa Fe or Sorrento. Or way more for one of the posh ones like a Q7. You can find the GLB but really that’s just a mid size suv with 7 seats in it. I would have this week moved on if there was anything that was as good as a kodiaq for similar money. But there isn’t. And those who got super duper lease deals will find it even harder. I do agree though that if I’ve waited a year I’m giving up and moving on. Especially if I have no build date.
  11. Your dealers explanation doesn’t make sense then as that was well before the MY23 switch over….
  12. What build week did you have before they errored it?
  13. Yeah the travel assist pack changed and they removed stuff early 2022 due to chip shortages. So that will be the error I suspect. What you ordered isn’t currently available to build. Hope they get back to you quickly.
  14. Yeah I’ve heard about the error state from my dealer. Did you have stuff like blind spot monitoring on it etc? Cos all that was pulled early 2022 by VAG and what has probably happened is they tried to put your car into a build slot and cos you had options that are now no longer in spec it’s errored it. The main issues are the detection stuff like side assist and blind spot….
  15. Fair enough I think it’s the plug ins that come from Korea still. They seem to have been able to make more Tucson’s than virtually any other manufacturer can manage.
  16. Some of the higher spec Tucson’s are made in Korea and there is a shipment due in the country in late May or early June. I suspect you are getting one of those. As is my father. Tucson’s are one of the few cars that are available for lease within a week or two and it’s been that way for months. However, reading the Hyundai forums there seems plenty of people waiting with exactly the same complaints about no communication and dealers just saying they don’t know week in week out…so not sure it’s any better if you are stuck in the factory queue.
  17. It’s a complete joke. They’ve fulfilled probably the bulk of 2021 orders made after yours already. I’d definitely get onto the dealer and ask for screenshots of your order and dates when it was submitted. I assume you didn’t get the usual letter from Skoda U.K. confirming your order as that went to the broker. But I’d definitely be checking everything is in the system right with no errors against it. And I’d want proof of that. If there are errors that could explain the inaction.
  18. TBH in your shoes I’d be telling them I’m cancelling. A year is not acceptable as a wait especially when you don’t have any idea when it will be built. I’d be screaming at the broker and dealer and asking for my money back. That might prompt action but if they just give up then it would suggest they aren’t going to push your order anyway. No chance I’d be letting this run much longer without someone doing some quite significant interventions. Otherwise you could be hanging on for nothing.
  19. Yep. A broker found a cheap deal. They have no incentive to move this really. Or a very minor incentive. A dealer who now could if the car gets built sell it at a far higher price. Was this the facelift version ordered? Or the previous one? Id say the chances of putting pressure on anyone are low here but dealer is best bet. They are the only ones who can make anything happen at all.
  20. Yeah I didn’t mean to spark it off as I pointed out it’s all in the eye of the beholder. I think Matt Watson says it best when he describes the Kodiaq as a ‘desirable car’ and the first one Skoda have made. Whatever anyone thinks about it, it’s not a functional workhorse like say the Octavia, it’s definitely got style and I’d say more style than the Kamiq or Karoq in their respective classes. It’s partly because large SUVs tend to look a bit dull or a bit odd and stretched and somehow the kodiaq has managed to avoid that through being not quite as large but retaining the dominant profile on the road. I personally don’t think there is much that looks as cool as the kodiaq in the class. Though I do like the look of SUVs generally so I’m definitely not a hip motorist.
  21. Yeah. Taking just outside looks nothing else.
  22. Fair play. The new RR is an acquired taste for sure. I should add that the XC40 is also an extremely attractive suv so probably fair to put that in the mix too.
  23. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but apart from a Range Rover I think the Kodiaq is the nicest looking SUV. It looks mint.
  24. What trim and engine have you ordered?
