  1. Yeah dealer is telling you the truth. I ordered VC on mine as I’ve never had one and think the standard instrument dials are a bit pants in the Kodiaq. But yeah I don’t think it’s end of the world really not to have it. The Audi ones are the best the Skoda one is a bit rubbish by comparison to be honest.
  2. Through a Skoda dealer?
  3. If I ordered a car in June 2021 and hadn’t had a single update since then I’d be on to whoever I ordered from and tell them unless I had a confirmation of some sort within the next week I’d cancel my order. I mean the global situation excuses the physical delay. It doesn’t excuse zero communication from whoever your order is with. Nor an open dialogue to at least explore options. It is they who should be sorting this in my view.
  4. Right now my worry personally is low considering the events in Ukraine and those poor people there. I got a deal that’s great thanks to the situation but I might have to wait. Good deal is worth waiting for. But yeah definitely some who have already been waiting a year or whatever..l feel for those folks.
  5. Thanks. Interesting. So Scalia and Kamiq seem affected alongside obvious reductions in enyaq. Having to source parts from elsewhere in a hurry might also impact quality of builds. However, at least for now from reading this it sounds like Kodiaq is less impacted than other vehicles.
  6. Think it’s the enyaq it’s mainly impacting, but obviously will just cause issues generally and who knows where it ends. Car deliveries are small issues by comparison. On another note how do you know your order numbers? No idea what mine is.
  7. Work schemes are usually lease though aren’t they? Ive also been told by my dealer that leasing would put you to the back of the queue right now. But I dismissed that as ‘well of course you are going to say that as I pull out the PCH deals during negotiation. But in fairness after shaking hands a few days later he said that lease right now are hardly getting any stock compared to retail. So does sound like a thing.
  8. Exactly the same. She hates black trim. Just ignored her and went black magic sportline anyway. She chose grey for her new car - with chrome trim!
  9. Fair enough. I just don’t like the chrome when it’s black trim. I know I can do it myself. And of course some people prefer the chrome. So just my issue really.
  10. Still don’t know why at the very least Skoda won’t put the all black badge on the VRS. Really is better.
  11. No build week at all ever? Not even unconfirmed? Who did you order through?
  12. Where did you order yours from? No dealer has ever sent me an email that long!
  13. Guaranteed build slots aren’t a thing. Unless lots of people have been kidding me on… Swapped my Karoq edition for a new sportline kodiaq on order last week. Saved loads too. It’s a great time to do it. Meant to be being built in June and here for September too but I’m not exactly expecting that to happen with the added complexities in Russia and Ukraine. But we will see. Deal was too good to pass on.
  14. Yeah as I understand it the dealers with carwow effectively give up all commission to offer those deals. And try to make it back as you say by hitting their stretch targets for large bonus. Speaking to those in the trade though it’s a risky old business and it’s why most don‘t sell that way. Even the carwow dealers sell normally to customers too so it’s not like 100% of their custom but still. It probably works for a handful which is why they do it.
  15. Yeah I think it’s reasonable they would know the manufacturer deal a car was sold under. I just don’t think they know the actual deal a customer signs. If you buy through Carwow for example your dealer effectively loses out not Skoda.
  16. I don’t think it’s going to be as clear cut as people are making out. Skoda U.K. who profess the orders don’t know how much you’ve paid. I guess they might know how it’s financed so it’s possible lease gets a lower build priority. But I’d be amazed if they actually knew what the customer paid. Less so the factory. However of course Skoda will know there are trims and lines that are higher profit than others. So suspect it’s more that than individual circumstances.
  17. I recently ordered a Kodiaq to replace my Karoq and couldn’t get blind spot detection either which is annoying as I have it on the Karoq. Seen elsewhere that this appears to have been removed along with other features as a result of the chop shortage as the dealer couldn’t understand why he couldn’t add it or why it wasn’t in the travel assist add on as normal. The most annoying thing about the Karoq for an edition owner is it’s really expensive to get back stuff like electrically adjustable seat that doesn’t exist in any trim now and is an add on. This is why I went Kodiaq as it worked out cheaper to just pick a sportline model with the stuff I wanted in already than to spec up a Karoq…frustrating…
  18. Ha. It’s so odd now. Every other new car I’ve bought has either been there or at least on British soil ready for delivery to the dealer. Never had to do a factory order before as I’ve always walked in with my trim level in mind prepared to do a factory order and they’ve said ‘no need we’ve got one you can have’ and that was that. My Karoq was literally there so I could look at it and sit in it and drive it away two days later a few years back…. Doing the order is sort of good as I was able to spec how I liked but still, I knew I’d be waiting a long old time.
  19. I ordered in February so roll on August then….. I’m not holding my breath. Although I was told a similar timeline by the dealer which I took with a pinch of salt.
  20. Are you even entitled to a deposit refund because the car is late? I was reading though what I signed last week and deposit is only refundable should the delays be caused by the dealership. When it’s out of their control it’s technically not.
  21. That’s the point I’m making. They couldn’t do it if you could track it or if Skoda U.K. gave the tracking information. But there is no tracking and Skoda U.K. stopped providing information so it’s entirely up to the dealer. I doubt this happens or if it does it’s rare but you simply can’t know. And I do think a lack of tracking is a very poor state of affairs. Especially for cars that are mostly £30K mark or higher. To have no tracking beyond the dealer is I don’t think very good. Is it like that across the whole VW group does anyone know?
  22. One of the weaknesses of no central information on order progress is it does leave it up to dealers. You have no way of knowing whether an unscrupulous dealer has simply had your car and given it to another customer. Not saying that’s happened but it does expose the weakness of no online order tracking and no central response either. Its hard to believe in this day and age that Skoda don’t have online build tracking. I get they are cheaper than BMW or whatever but they aren’t that cheap that you’d imagine such a basic tool isn’t available for a customer.
  23. Nah not at all. Just that Skoda the manufacturer aren’t the ones who are directly losing out on customer deals, that’s the dealers themselves. That’s why they decide what to offer and not Skoda U.K. or Skoda globally. I suspect Skoda have stopped giving out updates due to the volume of people…I haven’t looked at other manufacturers beyond VW but isn’t everything really delayed wrt new cars now?
  24. See I can understand that thinking but it’s not how it works is it? Skoda don’t take the hit, the dealer or agent or seller does. You negotiate at a dealer because Skoda supply the cars to them via the U.K. distributor Skoda U.K. (or equivalent elsewhere) and it’s up to the dealers how much they are willing to sacrifice to sell you the car. But Skoda, the company that build and manufactures isn’t the company that will take the hit or even know what the hit is.
  25. I agree with this. Are they even manufacturing pre facelift Kodiaqs anymore? My guess would be no and there is no chance of them doing so. But others may have much better knowledge. But if I was waiting for an old version of a car for over a year I’d probably be assuming it was never coming especially given I’ve had no information on build and given production lines have shifted onto a newer model…
