2.0 tdi Inlet manifold Actuator
Answered my own question today as I pulled the plug off the one fitted and plugged into another and it works straight out of the box. Randomly the eml went out today. So had a quick look and low and behold the motor is now moving the inlet flappers. I guess all I can do now is monitor. Worst case the light reappears and I buy one from a more established supplier and fit myself.

2.0 tdi Inlet manifold Actuator
Hi There, Until recently I was of the impression that the actuator and inletanifold (flappers) had to be bought as one from skoda. I have had the inlet manifold fitted alomg with the copy actuator. The garage explained they'd fixed it but alas the eml came back on before I'd even driven from the garage. Whilst I can't blame anubody as I supplied the parts I have since Learnt that most motor factors actually stock the actuator. As I'm going to have to fit another I wondered as its only the actuator itself how easy is it. Would the actuator need coding in. Otherwise it looks like airbox out and a bolting excersize. Can anybody advise.?

Anyone heard of Mannol Oil or used it
No problem, Last time I changed gear oil was in my 205 1.9 gti. Think it was motaquip.... I've just replaced my bikes with mannol antifreeze. I've got 2 cans of the long life stuff for the vrs. I'll use that in the diesel one. See how I get on; annoying though when you think you've beat the system and something like this crops up. Is it noticeably cruncher or notchier now then.? Have to say if I were going to copy oil I wouldnt use a cheap brand. Or have they gone for volume sales just a thought.

I've not changed gearbox oil in a while so hard to comment. A lot of synthetic oils seem watery these days or at least more so than anticipated considering its oil. Hate to say it but if its bothering you I'd change it as every notch and clunk will bring you back to doubt. As mentioned I put some in my misses focus but it was engine oil and it seems fine.

Inline Bluetooth adaptor Oem Radio
So this one looks to me like it plugs in to the rear of the unit a d you just earth onto the head unit case. Again using power from the radio and no recharging required. It's not here yet so when it arrives I will report back.

Inline Bluetooth adaptor Oem Radio
If you can get it to fit the harness doesn't require charging it sits behind the radio. As mentioned there is a facility to connect a mic so that you can be heard properly. As this didn't fit I have bought a unit as below

Octavia mkII water in boot
Just wondering I've got the dreaded seal issues as we seem to have had lots of rain lately. Do you reckon it would be worth while blocking the upper facing and punchin say 3 holes. Downwards..?

Inline Bluetooth adaptor Oem Radio
No it doesn't. Basically it uses the head unit as an amplifier and the phone is the source of whatever ie music radio or phone calls. I like dab so for me it suits as get reliable signal via phone apps

Inline Bluetooth adaptor Oem Radio
I found with mine that it didn't fit in the void with my radio. Hence my question and John suggesting pulling the cable around the back of the glove box. Correct though there is a Bluetooth module on there. I'm going to try another one which doesnt have all the harness and looks like it might just plug into the original radio. I've added a photo of the harness I bought. It worked well but as I say there wasn't enough room in the well of the radio.

Inline Bluetooth adaptor Oem Radio
Yeah sure it's basically a wiring harness. I'm not sure if you are familiar with the connectors on a vag headunit but it basically has the same connection and simply plugs into the rear of the head unit and the other end plugs into plug originally in the back of the head unit. Within along with the connecting cures there is a small Bluetooth dongle with a mic. connection. You then link your phone to the Bluetooth dongle and then place your hedunkt in aux. Mode effectively your phone becomes your hifi ie calls, dab radio, play lists. The only problem was that the additional cable and connectors prevented the unit sliding back in place as the vod was deep enough frustratingly by only 10mm or so.

Inline Bluetooth adaptor Oem Radio
Hi John thankyou. I had a feeling that may be the way to go as the connector block is in the bottom left corner of the stereo. As with most things these days everything runs of. Your mobile so by having an aux in and running everything via my mobile suits me. It was raining today so should have waited. I managed to snap the 2 flimsy wires that powered the Bluetooth element. Nevermind was only a tenner. - thankyou BTW.

Inline Bluetooth adaptor Oem Radio
Hi There, I'm not sure if anybody else has bought one of those Inline harnesses that has a Bluetooth adaptor which all connects to the rear of the head unit and connects back to the original harness. I set up a temporary rig to see if it works a d it did. Follishly I continued installing including the mic. However when it came to the refitting the head unit I realised t There wasn't enough depth. The harness and Bluetooth worked a treat and I was impressed. However gutted that the unit still sits 10mm or so proud. Has anybody out there got a workaround as they are really quite good Ta Maz

Comfort control window problem.
Hi yes sorry, I put the app on my phone probably 2 months ago. I then bought one of the cheap see through blue odb2 bluetooth readers. On my car 2009 octy vrs it was a struggle pushing the bulky blue unit onto the plug. So to test it I placed it on my van to ateast see it it worked. In carista as you mention it asked what unit I was using so I selected bluetooth. I selected the option mode customise. It began communicating but then said my unit is a basic model that wouldn't do what I wanted it may do only diagnostics. I repeated but with choosing diagnostics and that didn't work. It starts communicating as the green light on the unit was flashing. Carista then said it was faulty/basic unit that wasn't Compatible. I've since bought a viecar 'dongle' now so let's see...? My question I guess is by virtue of the fact its not asking me for money but at least giving me the option of diagnose customise or service; can I assume this means I have the same access as you. I also noticed it is. Letting help them trial the beta version of the new software..? Many Thanks

Comfort control window problem.
I wonder if I have the free trial then...? I can open the app and it gives me 3 options. It also asks me what obd2 bluetooth device I have. It claimed to have read 1 ecu assuming my van as a the tester as black housing around octys was too tight to get reader in..? Could you recommend any other apps..? Thankyou

Comfort control window problem.
Carista has mentioned my odii isnt working or is a basic unit. I have now bought a better one so will wait for it to arrive. Would the free Carista App have the option still to remotely open the windows..?

Comfort control window problem.
Crikey Pikpilot you are a bit of a legend at this... I'll have a look today. I've got the blue obdii connection it came with a disc but I assume you leave that to one side. I noticed you mentioned 'purchased' . I assume that the free crista won't give me access to the window option....? Thanks for your advice. I assume I cant mess things up too much...

Comfort control window problem.
So the facility is there..? It just needs activating... Would you know if I can do it with carista and a Bluetooth obdii plug in. Thanks Maz

Comfort control window problem.
Just jumping in here I have the opposite problem. I'd love my windows to open and close on the fib but mine don't.....? Its a 59plt vrs without maxidot. Should these operate on the fob... Is there a quick fix or it a coding in problem..? Thanks Maz

Aliexpress Inline Bluetooth Adapter
Hi thanks the item is was thinking of sits behind the head unit. It has that square plug at either end that looks very similar to the plug that the oem unit connects to. It just has a small module wired off of that with a microphone in jack. In principle it's very clever. I'm going to buy one I'll take a picture of it when it arrives. Thanks maz

Aftermarket Head Unit Recommendations
Hi, It was only till recently that I found out that you can buy a new centre console section designed to fit the shape of the vw family of head units. The Rcd series. Now if I'm not mistaken they run the same vag group software. Being vw there are plenty around at decent prices and they will do everything you want. They are are 225.00 I bought one for a vw we have and it is fine no battery drain. Hope this helps..? Ps being a vw fitment across a broad range of vw vehicles its resale will be much better too. Oh and you just go in and change the vw for skoda start up.... Thanks Maz

Key Remote Windows
Yeah I wasn't sure if it's a setting or if it has been wiped with vagcom. It may just need coding in...? I have a 2009 vrs. Fl model. No maxidot and the windows don't go up on the key fob or by inserting and turning the key in the door... How does the carista app work as I'll give any advise a go.
